I briefly met to Duff who was the most approachable on backstage on the previous day of the last Velvet Revolver gig.. We crossed that many times me saying hi that i gotta stopped him and shake hands he was very nicely and polite person.

Guns n'Roses used to be my favorite band, there were years when I was listening very little to something else, until I grew up.....But also now days when I occasionally hear them on radio I have a lot of emotions....

And Karma for making a thread for them.

Is Welcome to the jungle the only song to have been performed in its entirety twice at the VMAs? Of course, it sort of indicates the sad state of affairs....this old guy looks like a ghost of his old self....and wears hideous dreadlocks....and STILL outshines the younger crowd *shakes head*

I mean, he was one of the very last huge stars who gave it all, always, always. Bitchy, diva, crazy.....maybe, yeah, probably.....but that guy respected his audience on a much deeper level than most people think about. On a level that is so much more relevant than saying nice things to people....

I think a lot of people feel the same way....they were offered 150 million dollars to reunite for 20 concerts... well, according to Steven Adler anyway...

Axl's style was amazing back then, only he could pull it off.
He has inspired so many designers imo and it's still contemporary in a way.

I wish they wouldn't tour with that name now, seeing as Slash and Duff aren't in the band or even allowed to attend their concerts anymore. It should be called the Axl Rose project, cause thats what it is now.

one thing led to another and I ended up watching Don´t Cry and Estranged, it brought back so many memories! I was such a big fan during the 90´s, I went to see them everytime they came to my hometown and stalked their hotel (I saw Slash´s a$$ on a window!) but now it´s not the same... Chinese Democracy did nothing for me, I rather listen to old albums, great RNR mixed with beautiful arrangements.

I don´t know what happened to Axl... he was a sex god and now he´s blah...

Have you guys heard of Rock N´Roll all Stars? Matt Sorum put together a bunch of musicians from cool bands and they´re touring South and Central America. Yesterday I went to see the show but before I´ve got the chance to be at the soundcheck, OMG best "concert" experience ever! we were like 30 people singing Paradise City with Duff, Matt and Gilby then they had a webcast staged on the ground and they pass right by me but the icing on the cake was meeting them backstage, gotta say Duff and Matt are 10 times cooler than they were 20 years ago. Matt specially was really nice

Admittedly, I am not a huge GnR fan, but I saw them twice. Once was at a small venue in 1988. They were the back up band for The Cult, whom I loved. I remember GrN because the show was kind of a trainwreck. But they were good. It was just before welcome to the jungle, when they broke through. Then I saw them when they were huge, use your illusions tour. I didn't even plan on going to the concert, but a friend was so hyped on it he persuaded me that i should go. What was funny is that he, a huge fan, had nosebleed seats, and then you know how sometimes on the day of (or day before) a concert they release rush seats? Well my boyfriend and i ended up about 10 rows from the stage in this large outdoor arena. I think Metallica backed them up. Wild. Turned out to be a really fun concert except I was mad at Axl when he burnt a Nirvana hat (he and Kurt were feuding then - hair bands were on their way out, and grunge was just beginning to hit big).

Anyhow, saw the thread and thought I would share.

Also remember that November Rain video, and Stephanie Seymour!
