^ I know which Chanel bag you are talking about, its the huge Chanel one I realled liked it too.

I think you should visit a chanel boutique and ask to see all their bags which fit that description, they probably wont have exactly the same bag you're after but they might have something quite similar.:flower:

Sorry I didn't see this topic here! I'm reposting my question.

I searched through all the topics here and I didn't find a topic similar or that answered my question so I hope maybe you can help me!

I'm interested in purchasing a Chanel tote bag to use as a laptop carrier. There is a specific one that I am looking for but I think it is a few seasons old now and I can't find the images via google or MSN.

Mischa Barton's character on the OC, Marissa Cooper used one as a school bag. It is black, matte, and looked quilted. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or where I can find an image or one? Are they still selling it.

If not, can anyone post similiar bags that would make a great laptop carrier. I'm not into huge logos or monograms. (I'm not looking to go broke but I'm not gonna be cheap about it either...if that helps you narrow the price range!)

Please help and thanks in advance,

Jen

I have that bag

If it's the one I'm thinking about it's from the permanent luggage line. I actually suggested it to someone in a previous thread.

Depending on the size of your laptop, you might want to check out Chanel's large tote from their permanent luggage line (A15991Y03). I use mine for my laptop/travel - I love it. Big, lightweight, classic, waterproof (always a plus), and inexpensive so you won't feel bad if you abuse it (like I do) :p

If you call Chanel, they can tell you which boutiques have it in stock :flower:

Ok, so like almost anyone i want to buy a bag. Which bag do you think it's the new "It" bag?

I want probably a big one, preferably white or black (to match everything)
Designers that i prefer: Gucci, Dior, Chanel.

I was thinking about the Balenciaga, but is it like so last season?
Anyway, everything is welcome (size, colour, designers). The above are like guidelines.

budget: about 1500$ more or less

Thanks!

I think the Lanvin bag that Lohan has been carrying around might be good. It's pretty IT and in rt how but I'm not sure if that'll stay for long. Balenciaga city classique is also good, I like it in neutral colors like black or gray but you have many other colors to choose from. I think Balenciaga will stick around for awhile but only get it if you love it for it not for the trendiness. You can also get the Veneta bag in black, it's very classic and casual. Another great Bottega is the triangular shape woven hobo!!

Once, like 2 years ago, i saw this woman carrying the most BEAUTIFUL bag i've ever seen:o ! It was a black, medium sized, classic, perfect Gianfranco Ferre! Flawless:blush: !

Anyway the bag that i really love is this one:
Balenciaga Le Dix Motorcycle Medium in White
Do you have any idea how much it costs?

I don't think white is in production until next spring. The medium is $1195.

FashionJunkie, I hope you are only using that photo of the Balenciaga white classique as a reference and didn't bid on it because it looks like a fake.

White was only produced for pre-spring 05 and probably next spring as mentioned by Foxie-Pooh.

30th Birthday Bag

I am turning 30 this November And getting married:heart: . So I don`t have a lot of money for a new bag, but want to get something I can wear for years. I am looking for one that will fit all my stuff- small notebook/calender, wallet, mobile, makeup, and a paperback, etc. Basically I like big bags, but not that looks like luggage! It should be soft leather, black, and under $1000. Any ideas?

MJ stella may be a good choice, but its a little heavy. It's pretty big, roomy and pretty basic. It's also under $1000.

I need a suggestion for a basic, everyday, large, black leather bag. Either a messenger or shopper tote/oversized hold all will do but I am having a lot of trouble finding one I am mad about. I need it to be able to hold all my stuff (agenda, phone, wallet, etc.) and maybe a spiral notebook. I would love it if I could find one of the Mulberry messengers in black, but they seem to produce black bags very scarsely in general. So... any suggestions? Thanks!
p.s. I woud like to keep it under $1500, but I'd go over if the bag was really ideal.

I'm looking for something similar as well.

it seems very difficult to find bags for men that are right..

for women there are so many classics to choose from! you could get an Hermes Birkin bag, or a Fendi Spy bag.. etc. etc. etc.

what kind of a bag is there for men?

I want to hold my phone, agenda, and other misc. items in there!

Thanks

What about the kasbek GM

The large bayswater for men will also be nice. I think the Mulberry will be ideal though, it's cheaper and easier to carry. You should call Mulberry London or order online if that's what you really want. Hope you'll enjoy your college life :flower:

Thank you everybody for your posts.

I really love Balenciaga Le Dix Motorcycle Medium

I posted this in the wrong thread so I am re-posting it here. Where I see several others have the same dilemma, the ever elusive perfect, throw everything in and go black bag.

I need, yes need as I tell my husband, a nice black "everyday" shoulder bag. And I do mean real shoulder bag, since my upper arms are not as small as they used to be. I prefer gold hardware. I already have a large Gucci horsebit hobo in tobacco which I love, but it can get heavy because of the hardware. I just got a medium Chanel reissue 2.55 in black but I don't really see that as my "everyday" bag. I was checking out the large Bottega Veneta in black and loved that it was so light. It is pricey but the style will hold up over the years so I don't mind that.

Any other suggestions besides the Bottega Veneta....

^^Luna have you seen this bag IRL, are the straps really large enough to go over the shoulder. That is my biggest problem.

I need suggestions for a large bag primarily for use as a flight bag. Something big enough to carry all on flight essentials yet interesting enough to look chic. Compartments would be useful as well since i'll be carrying quite a few different things on board. The Louis Vuitton Deauville is about the size of what I'm looking for and is on the whole very similar in style to my ideal but I'm a bit adverse to it as I'm looking for something sans logoprint, preferably in a nice leather.

Thanks
