Conservative Casual bags?

What's a good understated casual look to carry around university and just going for a coffee or a bite to eat? It should hopefully work for Fall/Winter/Spring.

Please NO sequins, neon colors or teeny-tiny bags, these are way too "LOOK AT ME!!!" for my taste

Actually I am really looking for something under $200 but I figured if people post higher end bags I could look for something similar in my price range.

are you looking for leather? something for good for rainy days? i used to really dislike longchamp, but i bought one cos i realized it really does rain quite a bit here in paris... it holds all of my documents and papers well, and it's lighter than my LV duffle for short trips. it's not the most unique, but it is quite practical and conservative

I find that dkny actually has some nice styles and they are (relatively) cheap and of pretty good quality.

hmm, I don't know if you have Mango(MNG) in your area, but they did come out with some nice practical tote bags for their F/W area.
Also Nine West has some nice designs...

I also saw some nice everday bags from Bebe:

1. Bronze woven leather tote


I like the style of this bag, very similar to BV. It's also availabe in pewter. But you'll may like to check it IRL to see the quality and see if it is too bling for you!

2. Black leather hobo with sequins


I know you said you weren't looking for anything with sequins, but they are only on the side of the bag and they are rather discreet. Also I like the black, classical styling of the hobo.

I really love this Marc Jacobs quilted clutch, but am not about to spend $800 on a bag I can only use for evenings. Does anyone know where I can find a clutch that looks roughly like this?

The reason for Gucci because its simple but impressive design. I think simple things last longer... eg. simple love...

Let me get this straight... You are a Gucci salesman and you are asking us which Gucci bag to choose?! Interesting... Well, I'd say the less monogram the better.

BTW, you don't think your girlfriend will think it's cheesy that a Gucci salesman gets her a Gucci bag? Don't you get Gucci Group discount? Why not get her a YSL, McQueen or a Balenciaga bag?

Opinions about Marc Jacob bag please

Hi,

I'm somewhat new here, I don't post a lot..just mainly lurk

recently i've been wanting a bag that I can use everyday, and I wanted the LV speedy30 but then there are wayyy too may fakes out there..so my question is..

I know that A LOT of you girls own marc jacob bags, and I want to get either the Blake bag or the Multipocket bag, but I showed my bf and friends the pic on eluxury and everyone said it looks "cheap". The coloring of the leather does seem a bit off...Is it just lighting or what? And how does the leather feel? Does it get dirty easily?

I would love to see it in person, but the nearest marc jacob boutique is 6 hours away..so any advice i would really appreciate it..thanks!

I really can't say that I'm a fan of either bag but I like the blake better. As for the coloring, it's prob. just the picture. I have a MJ bag but mine is from about 2 years ago and is a very light peachy pink color... the leather is great and has held up well, didn't get too dirty either but that really depends on your use. If you are rough with your bags then don't get the white. Hope that helps. Get it and if you really don't like it then return it.
