maybe it is just me (apparently!) but I really just don't like the first one at all. not sure why. maybe in black it would be better.

guess I'm drawn to shiny things!

eh.. I really dont like the first one at all either... and I think the whipstitching really ages the bag...

I prefer the black harness tote and I think that the equestrian details are always somewhere in handbags...

Harness!

a backpack that isn't terrible?

i've decided to go back to school full time... which will mean riding the bus for 1.5 hours and carrying a bunch of very heavy textbooks. although i have bags that are stylish and definitely large enough, the weight is too much to make carrying it on one shoulder comfortable.

so i'm wondering whether anyone makes a backpack which is remotely stylish or interesting yet simultaneously has a bunch of pockets to organize cellphone , wallet, etc. it seems like there must be a market for it, but i've been searching online for a long time with no success.

if you've owned or heard of such a thing, any tips would be much appreciated. :)

Well, I used a Jansport, like the other 3 in 5 backpack users...
The quality is pretty good and they have a variety of sizes nowadays.
:flower:

i bought one from henry beguelin several months ago but it's no longer on the website...if you call the nyc store they will email photos if it's still available... good luck!

I'm quite guilty of having a terrible bagpack, but its just something I ignore in terms of fashion... function > fashion in this case for me personally. When I do want to look fashionable at school and don't have too many books on me, I usually just carry a tote and stuff my notebooks inside and if I have large books, I just carry em.

Sorry that wasn't too much help with what you are looking for, but my personal opinion is I have not seen any bagpacks that are really fashionable. At least the bagpacks I'm thinking of, maybe you can get a messanger bag or something.

Maybe try a messenger-style satchel. Some can be worn diagonally across the back...very urban. Try Timbuk2.com

Apparently Commes Des Garcons backpacks are VERY sturdy and practical. My Japanese friend swears by his backpack. The design is pretty plain, but clean cut. I have only one non leather bag by CDG, and it is extremely sturdy and can carry a lot of things =)

I used to be obsessed with messenger bags when I was younger. I remember switching from a new backpack every couple of months since I was never content with the one I had at the moment. I still have numerous ones that are in good quality in a box in my closet.
I have this really quriky one that belonged to my mother. It's red with a rainbow colored strap and a leather yellow flower at the center bottom. I love the colors.

Yes.. Moving this to "Handbag Reccomendations" thread.

As for my suggestion... Try doing a search on ebay for Coach Hamptons bags... they had a few cute colorful backpacks in that line.. but other than that.. I dunno.

um, in the designer department, there's always the basic nylon prada backpack that was popular 5 or 6 years ago... also, i've seen some LV backpacks, but they wouldn't hold all that many books.

i'd go with a messenger or something...i know Kate Spade has been "out" for years now... but i'm a big fan of her messenger. i have 2 classic ones from what seems like a decade ago... i still use them when i don't feel like using a tote. plus, they wouldn't be really expensive anymore, right? i saw a few cool printed ones when i was at her outlet the other day...

check out LLBean... i mean, they have greatback packs,

Good luck with your search for the elusive white tote, Luna.

PS How about this bone-coloured Tignanello tote (pic taken off the ebags site)? It doesn't have a zipper at the top but does contain two zippered compartments.

there should be lot of very cute white purses in all shape and sizes in the fall...

also, if you like messenger bag, isabella fiore has a fantastic messenger bag for their fall 1 collection...it's leather with tatoo artworks...it's so amazingly cute!!!! i ordered one for myself already...:p

Help me to pick a handbag, with following features:

- should be elegant for everyday work and top executives meetings (I am sales manager for one big company, so I mee a lot of people)
- suitable also for after-work events, not really parties as such, more like formal receptions with work clothes
- I should be able to fit my A4 notebook in there
- should not be glittering-with text "Sexbeast" ;) but kind of smart and elegant
- I wear smart suits with pants/skirts at work, always official look, on Fridays jeans + jacket
- should not cost more than 800 USD
- should not be white

I will be in London next week, I hope I find something from last week of sales. What woud you recommend? Pls post a pic also!
