When Karl was alive, you could have anything from his archive remade new so you could technically have this dress made anytime in his tenure, However they have since changed the rules and you can't have anything made and altered into a new style from Karl's archive.

Yes I was aware of the former rule as I almost tried to get into Couture but I wasn’t aware of the latter…
It’s a pity I must say. But I have seen so many versions of that 1983 collection. It’s almost weird because the more I see it the more casual it looks in my eyes.

I wonder if other houses have the same rules and I’m thinking about Givenchy for example. To keep the atelier busy for more than Redcarpet looks…

I guess Dior have the same rule as Chanel even if they sometimes redo the Junon.

It must be so overwhelming for a client to make a version of a Galliano design even more if it’s a mid 2000’s design…Like where do you start from? Lol!
It’s a pity but I can understand that as it allows Virginie’s work to shine…

Now I regret not jumping into it (I wasn’t ready to spend the budget of a car in a Couture outfit even if it’s totally worth it in a way)…Even if there’s the Vintage option. Chanel still alter vintage pieces…
