Hedi Slimane - Designer

Coming here to say stylenotcom is the most obnoxious thing that ever happened to fashion communication. He is such an as*licker, dear lord I cantttttt.

I didn’t know boringdotcom existed. First news ever about him/her. Hi dear 👋🏼

Also there’s this guy with blond her on Instagram as*licking everybody too… I can’t. I deserve haute couture or something like that. I can’t he’s so insufferable too.

The menswear collection is finally live and I had been looking forward to buying something seeing as it'd be Hedi's last Celine collection, but nothing really caught my eye 💀

Other than a leather jacket anyway. Except I already have way too many black leather jackets that all look very similar lol

Kendrick Lamar wears Celine denim during Super Bowl half time show.

For as much as I detested the thought of him at Chanel. I would love to see him at Gucci.

A lot of Frida’s menswear shows were not that far off from Hedi, just not as focused and extreme in direction and cut.

I would like to see hedi play with a glamorous and sexy man and woman.if there is anyone who has the authority to bring back glamorous and sexy, easy clothing. hedi could.

Gucci will have to spend money to make money at this point and he would be a commercial success, more so over MGC.

I’m just curious about 1 little thing: Hedi doing sexy and Glamorous comes from where? Some kind of allegiance to what Tom Ford did at Gucci?

Because why would Hedi suddenly change all his design ethos to suit a brand when everything he has done was the way around?

I think the only time I have ever find his work sexy was when he did the slick campaign with Anja Rubik for Saint Laurent in 2013 or his first stint at YSL in the 90’s.

Hedi maybe the master of cool but he is really anti-sexy for me. And when he do try the sexy route, they looks like groupies. There’s no sensuality in his work even though he likes to play with ambiguity.

Are we watching the same runway shows? Hedi is pretty shameless about what he's into lol.

They also will soon reduce debt by at least 4 billions refinancing real estate investments with new partners.
Refinancing real estate generally increases total debt due to transaction costs. A refi could reduce the size of individual debt payments, but that's just kicking the can down the road, really.

To be honest, it’s comes from wishful thinking and the fantasy in my head which I should know by now can lead to a huge disappointment.

And yes, 2013 are the collections I was referencing when I think of Hedi doing Gucci.

My dream would be for him to be at the service of the brand, however I know how Hedi works, the brand is at his service, not the other way around.

There are times that his man is sexy, but his woman always felt sexless. No matter how revealing the clothes are.

Gucci doesn’t have to be sexy, if they want to be purveyors of luxe basics maybe Hedi is the man.

Why not? His style evolved a lot and in his menswear there’s always been sexy. At SL there was sexy in womenswear as well, somehow.

He did clean rock at Dior, grunge, sophisticated, more BCBG at Céline, Chanel even… and always felt natural and organic.

Nobody remembers his tuxedos with sheer blouses for Saint Laurent? I think they are super sexy. Also he had mini skirts with little tops… transparent dresses. His woman is much more sexy than any of the pseudo-intellectual designers that we have now. Much more than PPP, MGC, MB, PM, etc.

Just put Saint Laurent women’s Hedi Slimane. It was sexy sometimes.

I think people are very tricked by his stores and campaigns… But the vibe for every brand has been quite different.

Blech, that real estate quote was from the Kerring thread. That's what I get for diving into fashion drama before I've had my coffee...

Honestly I never felt that, but maybe that’s just me. If anything his attempts at Le Smoking projected a powerful, secured woman to me—intimidating, but never sensual. But that’s me. I find his ‘French girl’ pastiche at Celine with the denim and baseball caps closer to sexy.

Hedi's work is a Rorschach test.

I like his le smoking and generally dislike the miniskirts. I don't think he does skimpy very well. It tends to give "I hear people like to look at women's legs. I wouldn't know. But here's a short dress if you wanna show off your legs like that I guess. If you get cold you can cover up with something from the men's collection."

I mean, if you say so…
Maybe at this point I should retire from the Hedi Slimane conversation because in any and every scenario, the answers are always the same to me. The result is always the same. The pattern is always the same.

And as much as I respect his vision and love sometimes his work, it’s not enough for me.

Because the Gucci conversation is not different from the Saint Laurent conversation or the Celine conversation…etc.

The question should be: Which brand do you want to be sacrified at the altar of Hedi Slimane?

Because apparently people can’t get enough of the Hedi formula and pattern and want to replicate it from brands to brands.
