Heels for Men

WELL, WHY NOT. ILET'S BE CREATIVE. But... let's not create awkward, K? The only non-trans guy I have EVER seen who looks fab in heels is our own Alejandro. Probably because he incorporates heels into an entire look -- a look that really works.

Not saying you can't do the same, but just wearing heels and not adapting the whole look is, as far as I'm concerned, just being a wise *** or a guy who likes to poke folks in the eye with a sharp stick. Not cool.

Hey Deedee49. What should I do to make the look work?

I was only trying to show a snapshot of a look. I would make it sharper to wear out.

OMG! Worst thing a man could do is wear stilletos, that would completely emasculate him. I don't want to be insensitive, but, are there really any *exclusively* straight men who actually wear pointed heels?
Pointed heels are just so wrong for *most* men. I know some people will give that old boring argument that people think it looks wrong because society has been socialized a certain way. But I simply think it looks wrong because heels just aren't made for a man's body. Women are slimmer, have hips, narrower shoulder, longer legs... wearing heels usually accentuate these features and arch a woman's back. Not to mention the fact that heels incapacitate women in a lot of ways, altering the way they walk. What good would heels do to accentuate a man's features? I have yet to see a single man wear pointed heels without looking awkward.

If you really mean it, go look at Alejandro's pictures sometime. You need to incorporate heels and even a skirt and why not handbag, jewelry, a lot else, into an ENTIRE look that uses your body, too, to project a MALE sexiness in which GUY AND GAL things enhance each other. Thsat means no wearing heels with drab clothing -- or with a skirt over pants and a dull color shirt.
You have to incorporate colors -- COLORS! -- into your look. Or else you'll just look odd...

But I encourage you to try. We after all have had centuries of experience at dressing to flatter & radiate and turn heads (in a good way). Guys just gotta learn, which means trial and error. Go for it, hun, I think you might have what it takes! The fact that you answered me -- asked me for advice -- tells me you are serious. (By the way, Alejandro wears FAB, stiletto heels. And makes a girl like him wearing them!)

Take a look at our own Alejandro sometime. But yes, other that he, I have yet to see men wear heels to any effect other than to look strange. But maybe Benno here will manage it. I hope so for his sake, because I know he WANTS to

Soo.. you're basically saying that only slim women with hips and narrow shoulders should wear heels, and not women of every kind of body-shape, like they today?

Dego if you want an argument or abuse go buy the old Monty Phython record.

No, that's not what I'm saying, although I believe that slimmer women look better in heels than fat women. But a bigger woman will always look better in heels than a man... ANY man. You could be the most femine man on the planet, but you're still, for the most part, going to have a man's body... and look like you have a man's body. That's why I think pointed heels look awful on most men. It's all about the proportions.

This is great. I had a conversation with a female fashion designer and we concluded that women are too guarded about makeup and heels etc to be kind enough to share them with men. I have a sneaky feeling that it is being played out on these pages.

You don't include me in that list, I am sure. But if you want to walk a mile in my shoes you have to talk the talk as well :innocent: :innocent: :innocent: :innocent: :innocent:

In other words, Benno, you have to know what it is you are talking about. We women have grown up knowing heels & make-up. We have a 20, 30, 40, even 50 year head start on you. Rising above early awkwardness takes much time. For girls too. (Now there's a secret that I've just shared with you!)
We are rt now in the very early stages of guys becoming interested in wearing heels and/or make up. I am sure you all will improve. Rt now most of you look very awkward, and so we gals feel very awkward about you. That is what is going on in these pages, as well as that we're not quite sure that you aren't putting US on (and not our shoes).

Work on it, work with us, take dcriticism & advice in the earnest spirit that (most of) it is given, and more of us will believe in more of you. Sound like a plan to you?

What? LOL. That's ridiculous. I don't think the majority of the people here who think heels on men are horrifying feel the way they do because they don't want to share their heels with men. They feel the way they do because heels on men look out of place.

Let me put it this way... a man wearing a tube top and mini skirt looks just as good as a man wearing stilettos.

Some do. Not sure that any of those guys are my type tho. Also sounds like gender evolve overload. Let them adapt to heels first, if they can.

P.S. >>> take a look at our own Alejandro. Then tell me it CANNOT be done RIGHT. (I'll grant you that he is, so far in my limited experience of this, unique in that regard.)

where is a pic of alejandro in heels? because i still have to see a man in heels that looks okay to me

just my two cents

okay.just going to throw in my two cents worth.

im 17 and actually adore the though of heels. Just have to wait till i move out before i can ever try it unless my intentions are getting thrown out of my house. What i cant stand though are pointy toed shoes. They are just TO feminine for me. I happen to like stilleto-type shoes but only if they have a rounded toe in the front. A high heel AND a pointed toe is just to feminine for me. But again thats just my opinion. Also a pointed toe, a heel, and a boot that goes up to your thigh just looks horrendous. And especially when you wear tight jeans and tuck the pant inside. If your a guy and you want to wear heels i say go for it because i know im going to but when i do im going to wear a pair of loose fitting jeans that covers about half or 3/4 of the shoe and doesnt point out my shoe like a sore thumb

I'm not sure why some people say pointy shoes are feminine because there are plenty of pointy shoes and boots out there designed/sold as mens shoes.

What deedee49 says does make sense. In order to carry heels off, you have to incorporate it into a whole look. This is what I do when I wear heels. I wear right kind of jeans/trousers, tops and jackets to go with the shoes I wear. I hope to give some people inspiration when it comes to wearing heels with the right outfit (the wrong jeans/trousers and shoes combination is not good on anyone!).

You'll find Ale's pictures in the very early pages of this thread.

Heel-D >>> I appreciate your taking an effort to not just slam heels onto an otherwise pre-existent guy set of clothes, that would just be weird or worth me clicking the "Global ignore" function. The reason I continue to post here is that I think Alejandro has actually started an interesting beyond-metrosexual look that (in his case, anyway) makes him SUPER sexy -- to me, anyway. I'm wondering if ANY other guy can do that. Benno might; we'll see. In your case, I think there's more to do than just to take our heels & match them to even a sympatico shirt and pants set. I think you have to re-think the entire outfit -- create new shirt-like shapes, new shapes for dressing the leg, the torso, the arms, the face. Otherwise you're STILL just gonna look like a guy in women's heels. Hopefully you don't want THAT, right.....?

P.S. what gave you the idea of wearing high heels in the first place?

P.S. >>> Why HEELS? Why not a SLIP? or LIPSTICK? Or a shag wig? Or a patent leather shoulder bag?

Guys should wear heels.
But if you only want to do it for comfort and you don't really want to wear womens shoes, you could just get those shoes with lifts in them. They're supposed to look flat.

FallingAngels216 >>> hun you sound like a transvestite in the making, to me. I know you'll deny it, but I'm betting that you will rethink that denial, probably sooner than later. And it's OK. There are some fantastic looking ********:

..... but not many. In the fashion world we see only the best. Good luck in your search for self-expression, but be very careful and insightful about yourself, OK.....?

Men's feet are shaped different than women's, men and women have different hips, they carry their weight differently, men are too bulky to wear thin heels...

bullsh*t. Please.
You just aren't comfortable with people who violate traditional gender roles.
