Heels for Men

 i was just coming round to the idea of my boyfriend wearing my shoes :D  then i realised that our feet aren't the same size :p

Now I wonder If I'd have to say I feel sorry for you not being able to expand your wardrobe, or to feel sorry for your boyfriend not being able to wear your shoes?

Wouldn't work for me as me and my wife have got totally different taste in shoes (Or dare I say heels):woot:

I think that if you would wear a heel, it's got to be "solid". That means, solid structure and a good material. The quality of the shoe is extremely important as I think that it will ruin many things (ie not only your look, but your posture as well, walking pattern, how you place your feet, ecc.) I love how Tom Ford is wearing his. Very cool!

I'd definitely wear the Dior Homme ones and the Rick Owens ones are cool, but I'd:

1) Feel extremely taller than I already feel (I feel too tall sometimes)
2) Would fall completely over.

I also like what he's wearing. Although the Dior Homme boots has got a higher heel, the shoe is not really what I like. Give me a little higher heel in a cowboy boot and I'm smiling. Just wonder where I can get hold of the Rick Owens boots or the Rui Leonardes boots.
I sometimes feel more surefooted on stilleto heels than on block heels. I suppose it's got a lot to do with the shoe.

I kind of like the shoes in a way but the heels could have been an inch or so higher. But that's just me..........

I got a pair of cowboy boots with a two and a half inch heel for Xmas. I am planning on getting some ankle boots with a block heel when I have the money.

Ahh, money. Do I know thee? no, I don't. I am perpetually broke, lol.

well...i just stumbled apon this thread...a bit lost for words, really.

david bowie as ziggy stardust wore heels. eddie izzard pulled them off in a very statement look...but he's eddie izzard, he also wore corsets and and black pvc mini skirts and got away with it. he's a cross dresser, rather than a man trying to get away with heels. prince wears heels but thats because he's so short. in recent times, i can barely name anyone...noel fielding of the mighty boosh sometimes wears platform boots, he has a very glam, effeminate look. i think the 70s was the time when gender specific clothes were challenged, we saw men in glittery make up, platform heels, unisex haircuts.
to the guys in this thread, are you general cross dressers or do you just like wearing heels? do you feel it makes you look better, projects how you want to look to the outside world or is it purely something you get a kick out of?

if i saw a man wearing his regular clothes and a pair of stilettos i would just find it beyond weird. i wouldn't wear stilettos heels with my casual clothes...it just looks off, to me. a man in them is even more odd. i don't think it's being narrowminded to criticise men in heels...fair enough if the guy is a transexual or cross dresser, the heels are appropriate for them. but your regular guy in a pair of heels, i find that weird looking.

Yeah, this is completely odd. I had no idea it was even being discussed in fashion circles. Unless you're gay or transexual/transgender, I don't think high heels are very flattering on men (even if you are the aforementioned sexual orientation for that matter). Stilettos are a feminine icon. Leave them to the girls and the cross-dressers.

this would work in only one way: 19inch Dior jeans and the Dior heels, i've seen pictures of Hedi pulling off the look. most pictures in this thread just look ridicilous....especially with the bootcut imo...

Something like this usually begs the usual ethical question- "if women can wear these, what about us guys?" Well up until recently, someone wanted to make fashionable skirts for men. But of course, men used to wear heels back in... I guess the Colonial days in America. Skirts have been around for men longer than when it became a staple of women's fashion. I wouldn't wear heels since I guess I'd be under a microscope to some guys. Under a microscope that I'd be ridiculed by my peers. Maybe not even if I did it in public. I guess if I was actually handsome for once, I'd probably try to look (forgive me, guys) flattering by wearing something to compliment the sort of heels I would work with. My favorite kind of shoe for ladies is the mary jane. You have the classic children-like/school girl mary jane shoe. But then, you have people like Skechers and Champion coming off with strappy mary jane shoes. I would probably go with a mary jane wedge (no mule or slingback style) or just stay with the classic mary jane style. I say that if you can pull it off and you're okay with wearing them, who am I to show hate? Feel free to experiment with women's shoes. And like I said, if you can pull it off and not look terrible, then go right ahead.

This is me today

The boots are vintage Luisa Ferretti with a 3 3/4" heel. Anyone know that brand? Is it related to Alberta Ferretti?

I wear high heels because I like the look and I like walking in them, it's fun.

^totally agree
but ajott--you look really cool! you have a westwood man vibe going on. if you don't already own some, look into it... ;)

Might get a bit of sympathy from guys if they wore heels more! End of 'I'm not waiting if you can't keep up as you've got those things on your feet'. Then again, women in flats could be saying that to guys for a change!
