Heels for Men

Hi LVizo,

I wasn't trying to cause offence. It's just that you said you'd maybe give ballerina pumps a go. Try it indoors and experiment. You may surprise yourself. It's like people who say they can't sing but have never tried.

I was hesitant at 1st but now I get nothing but compliments.

God I sound corny.

Benno, I bought some shoes like yours some days ago, too. Neil Barret, from Yoox. But haven't worn them yet, still looking what's the best outfit to wear them with.

I wear my heels nearly everyday now. Only at work in the office I dress a bit more conservative, but I wear at least some 5 cm (2") heels.

benno, i see, and wasn't offended at all. I just felt a little attacked. And oh, i worn ballerinas before =)

thanks for the support! i think ill buy some in my size. Im dying for the Balenciagas Mk wears.
What do you think about those???

Nice, but too S&M-y. But then again it's all about taste & so. And i have to admit, they are pretty cool.

The ones i thought you were talking about is the black platform-wedge-boot, i haven't seen the coloured ones.. Any pictures??

there are certain examples that seem really unselfconscious that have been posted, but i think the guy with heels look is coolest on stage-- ny dolls/bowie style

i bought this woderful ankle boots in my size but they still fit a little small. i couldnt figure out which shoe went better with my outfit so i took a picture with both and maybe you can tell me.

this would work in only one way: 19inch Dior jeans and the Dior heels, i've seen pictures of Hedi pulling off the look. most pictures in this thread just look ridicilous....especially with the bootcut imo...

:flower::flower:

I agree, Hedi does it so well.

guys you really scare me :(

i want BIG shoes on men... pleeeease!!!

If you want to try something traditional and extremely comfortable in 'heels for men', flamenco boots are an option.

I'll dig around on Spanish sites and see if I can find a bit more variety.

Well, Leyla, not every man is like the typical "big" one and so likes some finer/smaller shoes.
Now the summer is arriving fast here, time for some sandals ...

I meant to say:
Not every man is built like the typical "big" one and so likes some finer/smaller shoes.

heu i would understand my question will offecne but ... are you guys kidding? are you travestites or is it for "fun nights out"? I can understand men wearing those 70s "high" heels (Tom Ford)... I thought I would be "open-minded" when opening this thread (as I have a pretty big collection of women bags...) but I just don't understand why you, guys, are wearing women high heels...! maybe if you explain me (in pm or here) I'll appreciate it and it'll helps to understand...
Rick Owens did high heels for men, for instance... but I didn't understand and I think it didn't work. I know we're enterring a "Third Sex World" but... c'mone...
this is not because we see Stefano wearing high heels in a photo shoot by S.Klein that it's... it's just an editorial (or ad campain... ex : versace ad campain in 2000/2001 I think)...
this is still a sort of "taboo"...

when i was at ysl in london, i tried on some ankle length cuban heeled boots and i had so much trouble walking, i am tall 6'2.5" and i dont need the extra height but i wanted to see how it looked, i liked how my feet looked dead on but profile just scared me, the were probaby 3", thats my best bet... well i dont know how i feel about them but to each their own :)

I think high heels for men can be quite fashionable - Prince comes to mind... perso.orange.fr

So if you want guys with big shoes, that must mean you want guys with big feet and you know what they say about guys with big feet...:ninja:

Frankly, I want a stay-at-home wife who cooks for me, cleans for me, does my laundry, walks the dog, and has no voice in how I run my household. B)

I think what you really want is for guys to fulfill your masculine gender role expectation, which is conservative and which is okay.

But to possibly imply that there is something wrong with a man who does otherwise through his clothing is just unjust, unfair, and plain wrong.

kneehighs,

with all due respect your reply made me giggle a little.. ;)
not liking a guy in heels is not comparable to wanting a woman who cooks, cleans, walks your dog, etc...
did i say i want him to bring home the bacon? nope :)

i like MENS SHOES, i find them sexy on a man. as a woman, i simply find it a turn off when a man wears ladies shoes, thats all.
i did in no way imply its wrong. but in this thread, there surely are some examples which from a fashion point of view AND MY (i clearly state MY) point of view are a huge NO NO. its nothing to do with being stylish anymore.
and nowhere did i say i like men with big feet. i would even moreso like "no" heels on men who have a 40 shoe size ;)

to each their own but pls dont put words in my mouth :flower:
