Heels for Men

Okay TFS'ers, here are some additional samples of pics of men in heels. These outfits are not intended to be my final fashion statement at all as I am consistently a work in progress. Nor are they intended to be truly stunning examples of fashion couture. There is no way I approach the "fashion" sophistication of a softgrey or a faust...nonetheless:

For those of you who like a sportscoat look, sometimes when I go out at night--either to dinner or clubbing--I'll wear a jacket. Here is me in a sportscoat with Banana Republic Jeans. (that's not my final belt choice btw). This is what I'd look like if you saw me walking down the street in myBanana Republic jeans from the side. And here is me in a sportscoat with my Seven Jeans from the front and what I might look like if you saw me walking down the street from the side in my Seven jeans again.

Here are similar angles, but without the sportscoat and just a simple form fitting shirt.Banana Republic jeans from the front and Banana Republic jeans from the side. And what I think may be the best look so far is the Seven jeans from the front and the Seven jeans from the side.

Based on the very limited information given above, which look do you prefer?

Well...the third picture, "Seven Jeans from the front," is my favorite picture. I like the silhouette there. I don't know...

I agree with AlexN - the sportcoat defeminizes the heels really effectively. It makes them more a stylistic accessory than a focus, because the fitted top/jeans bit is more androgynous and the eye tends to zoom in on the heels as the gender-defining item.
But in the conventional disclaimer of all fashion advice forums, "if that's what you're after, rock it!"

Add- I think heels only look good on men if they are wide.

If you are using the guy in the photo as your yard-stick, then your thoughts on heels may be as dated as the clothes he's wearing......:p :D :D

Hi, All,

I got the hat in a gentleman's hatters in St James in London. It seems that the only hats in ordinary shops are baseball caps.

... and I'd rather wear Birkenstocks than be seen dead in a b....dy baseball cap !

Great pictures! I could in no way pull this off. Requires too much balance

For men I think flat and coach heels look best...

Im very whatever about this thread already... I dunno
Ale, I've gotta be honest. You're the only guy I've ever seen really pull off heels, in my opinion.

^ Agreed, you can't just be a guy and wear heels like that. Some guys really work it out, while others look ridiculous. It's not a question about being a guy or not, it's more the look.

If anyone's still interested in this thread, I thought I'd post these. From Rick Owens Spring 05.

**Please do not quote pictures**

I know a couple guys who could rock this look. Love it.

I think those guys ^ look too weird in those heel. I mean just look at the last guy's facial expression. He looks so lost. Those are not the kind of guys who've got the looks (and the style of the outfit really don't complement those heels) to pull it off. And by the way, those shows are truly awful too.

I couldn't agree more. 99% of men in heels just look like...well...men in heels :innocent:
