I find new designers of HL too simple. I'd like to see minimalism, this is just nice simplicity in my opinion

I think it's beautiful:blush:. Simple, yes, but beautiful. I love the way that blue fabric hangs; it all looks so easy to wear.

^ no problem

I really like many of the pieces and as a whole I like it as well. I agree the prints are lovely and I love the jackets, vest, dresses and especially the sleeveless white top in the 4th pic in post #1

Much better than the resort collections so far for me, except maybe Alexander Wang. Overall really good, wearable, collection!

this is sooo so painfully basic...
and will no doubt be just as painfully overpriced...

meh...no thank you...
:ermm:

I don't know why, but the looks with the super skinny pants, strapless tubes and basic tops remind me of Jil Sander for spring.

...amplified by the use of Jil Sander SS'08 sandals... ouch

It's a risky symbol to use a competitor's, recognizable footwear to help sell your own product, even though they arguably fit with the aesthetics of Helmut Lang.

Otherwise, it's looking nice and simple from the pictures - sometimes you'll want something 'plain' and just very well cut... but unless they've changed direction... these clothes are doomed to disappoint in person, due to cheap fabrics and relatively high prices at that.

love how they used the tie-dye! and the pieces fit and hang beautifully:crush::wub:
this is a bit basic, but i wouldn't say it's a bad collection...the only look i don't like is #3 in the first post. it doesn't look as sleek as the other outfits.

the colour palette and certain details - such as with the slim pants, the long t-shirt dresses and tie-dyed, gauzy jersey tops, reminds me also of what olivier theyskens did at Nina Ricci for pre-spring SS'08

I agree with all these references and I also get a bit of a Bruno Pieters S/S 08 vibe from it as well

ok then.. references let's see..
Maybe Chloé as well  the last one by Mr Andersson, FW 08

for colours
& print mood...

 well on that note...the sandal/boots shoes look like Martin Margiela's, and the black and white dress in post #2 remind me of this ed.

they could have photoshopped the bruises and marks on the model's legs
will the real helmut lang please stand up
:x
