Hi All,
I've seen lots of pictures in magazines etc of shorts - casual denim or cotton or tailored ones - being worn with high heels. Is this a good look to go for? Is anyone out there actually wearing such a combination. I like the idea, but I haven't yet been brave enough to try it.

i wear it...but with stiletto slides.

example, yesterday i was wearing

-Marc Jacobs cuffed baggy shorts
-Banana Republic white button down shirt with sleeves rolled up
-Manolo Blahnik pink suede and lucite slides
-Chloe brown braided belt
-Louis Vuitton old speedy with a Hermes purple/pink scarf tied on it

these are the shoes

Also, i just bought another pair of Manolo mules that i will probably wear with a pair of pleated khaki shorts and maybe a white Lacoste polo...its a really nice weekend look :flower:

these are my new "babies"

I don't like high-heels with shorts, myself. To me heels are very dressy and shorts are very casual, and it just looks muddled.

Then again, I don't like high-heels with trousers either, which is a look many folks here find perfectly acceptable and stylish, so my tastes may well be askew.

Personally, I don't think heels look very nice with anthing but the dressiest of dresses. I don't like heels with Juicy sundresses or jean skirts, or most business suits (modest heels are okay with business attire, but I think anything over 3" is a bit much for work).

Note, however that I don't really like heels and I absolutely do not wear them. They hurt my feet and I tend to wobble and trip in them, since I have wimpy ankles.

see, thats what i like about the heels and shorts combonation...dressy mixed with very casual

but...you must remember, i wear high heels with everything ;)

Definately, if you've got good legs, that's all I'd be wearing.

Hard to pull off... but when pulled off correctly, it looks fabulous. Kirsten perfected the look, if you ask me.

I think heels can look great with the more tailored shorts, tweeds... the look has to be refined, think pearls and a nice bag :)

But... absolutely no heels with hot pants or *** shorts.... because that's just skanky

but i do agree they can look good if worn with linger shorts

peronally, i think shorts look bad on women.....sorry if anyone likes shorts

Yep, I don't think shorts look good on women either...

For me - heels should go with dresses and skirts, nothing else...

Personally, I never wear heels but I'm not a woman so there you go...

i like it but only with longer slouchy cuffed shorts.
NOT hotpants. ho.
i agree

mine are the very similar to kristen's

I don't really like shorts either. Pairing heels with shorts worked for Proenza Schouler this past spring, but I probably wouldn't go for this look unless it was something like what PS put out. It can look good, but you better have skinny or toned legs.
