The 2009 Swimsuit Issue takes a journey to four countries with ancient cultures and pillars of modern beauty and makes stops in Naples, Italy; Cappadocia, Turkey; Riviera Maya, Mexico; and Tenerife, Canary Islands. The cover of the iconic magazine is billed, Bikinis or Nothing, and showcases a photo of Brooklyn Decker displaying a map of the world - in only paint!

SI.com will post over 1,500 exclusive photos and 60 video clips totaling over 100 minutes of footage from all 19 models, NBA dancers, Danica Patrick and WTA tennis players. Hilary would make a so much better SI cover. She doesn't look cheap as Bar
To tell the truth the picture with the pink bikini is hot but kinda cheap (sorry ). On the other hand the other ones are really nice.

^ EVERY year all of the models shoot a potential cover shot.

It's fine to speculate over why Bar got the cover and I know everyone in this thread was hoping Hilary would get it but, think about it, Bar has been at the magazine a while now this was Hilary's first year.

IMO, it makes perfect sense that Bar got the cover. Even if she wasn't dating someone famous, it would make sense for her to have the cover.

Although it would have been amazing, it would have been far more random for Hilary to have landed it this year.

I think she'll stay on at SI, though, and hopefully she's get the cover next year or the year after.

I wonder if Hilary will come back
to do high fashion after this
AMAZING appearance :unsure::rolleyes:

SI is not Playboy.

Maybe Hilary doesn't want to walk the catwalks anymore. If she's decided she wants to do SI then IMO that's very cool. She'll be making a ton of cash and it might get VS on to her too, and then she'll be making the big bucks.

I know at TFS we all want to see our fav girls in high fashion, but HF is not the greatest thing on earth, ESPECIALLY not if you're a model!
It pays very little unless you're at the very top and you don't have a long life in HF. Hilary is being smart moving onto the " commercial" ( hate that word) market, where she can still do cool work AND actually make a good amount of money for the work she does :flower:

xXx

i agree with everything you say.

Thats true. I want to see Hilary succeed. Id love for her to be rich and on top, but it makes me sad that the only way to really succeed and make big money these days for a model is to strip down to your bikini and show off your boobs. Call me weird but Id rather see models being successful because of their elegance and modest charm rather than their boobs and hot bodies.

Karma. You've been such a great voice in this thread, lately :flower::heart:. (Not that you weren't always!)

Aaww, you guys are too sweet! Thank you!

I'm really enjoying Hilary's thread. She has some very devoted followers and it's a lovely thing xxXxx

Well HF designers send models down the runway with their boobs and butts hanging out all the time, never mind gratutitous topless pics in "artistic" edits. It may not be as salacious as the commercial side but I think pretty much all modeling trades off on sexuality. (HF just tags it as "pushing boundaries" or being "controversial" or whatever.) I do get what you're saying, though :flower:.

^Oh I understand that point. But the sexuality in HF is nowhere near as vivid or intense as the one in commercial modelling like SI and VS. HOwever HF by no doubt includes sexual hints all the time, but thats the kinda sexy I like.
