How Do You Smell Today?

Durga by DS & Durga. I feel like Shiva

Just ordered the Pistachio perfume by DS & Durga. I haven’t smelled it, but hoping for the best. What’s the smell phrase equivalent of “sight unseen”? Scent unsmelled? Anyway, not typically one for gourmand fragrances but I hope it won’t have been a waste of money.

Wearing Barenia by Hermes today, another recent newbie for me. I like it, it’s a nice everyday sort of smell.

Another 13 by Le Labo
This fragrance is seriously my favorite scent in the world. Its unmatched in my opinion, its musky but clean at the same time. 100% recommend.

Dries van Noten, by F. Malle.

The mix of vanilla, sandalwood, jasmin, saffron and spices is pretty unique.
One of my favourite winter fragrances.

^ It's a shame that's been discontinued! In a strange coincidence, I was just looking at listings for it on eBay this afternoon wondering if it was worth a blind buy, but the cost is kind of insane, so I don't dare. Speaking of Frederic Malle, I was gifted The Night for Christmas. Only worn it once, it's almost disgusting at first (smells like blue cheese) and then transforms into a beautiful warm floral (rose) smell.

Has anyone tried Dries' own line of perfumes? The bottles are so beautiful, I want one just for that. Bitter Splash is what I've got my eye on currently. I'm a sucker for anything grapefruit.

Oh, and today I'm wearing Tonka Hysteria by D'Orsay.

Yes, I still have half a bottle and it is precious to me. It is really unique.

Have you smelled Ambre Eccentrico (Armani Privé)?
DVN is not sooo far away, A.Eccentrico leaning more towards almond, DVN more towards vanilla.
They kind of belong to the same family: spicy gourmand.
But not "blind-buy-friendly". Too particular.

I have never smelled The Night!
I am curious, if only because of the price!

And didn't know that Dries has their own line of fragrances!
Thanks! ❤️

I wore CK One Reflections in honor of the CK runway show 😂

Tainted Love by Prada  I just got it in the mail today, and it's love at first spray.

Can't believe how much it smells like vintage lipsticks! I'm reminded of rummaging through my mom's makeup drawer in her bathroom and playing around with her makeup :crush:

@IsabelMarantBoy I'm kind of intrigued by your description of Tainted Love... my mom doesn't wear much makeup so I didn't grow up with that smell really, but that old lipstick smell reminds me of my grandmother (and her bathroom!!) so much. I am tempted to try it.

If you like orris root/powder forward fragrances, this is definitely for you! Sweet and powdery, then fades to fruity and waxy 💜

It's out of circulation unfortunately, but I found it on ebay for around retail value. If you purchase it, I hope you enjoy it~

LOL of course it's out of circulation, but I am intrigued.

This reminds me, I ~have to~ use up points at this iconique Canadian department store that just filed for creditor protection lol. I have $30 in their points that I should use before they don't let people use them anymore... I'm thinking of buying a new perfume, but what? I'm into gourmands lately, I can't help it. I am running out of my little travel spray of Bitter Peach, perhaps I'll just use the points on that. For some reason I was going to buy Flower by Kenzo last year, but I can't remember why I wanted it or why I never bought it.

Sad to hear they're closing down 😭 nothing worse than losing your favorite shopping spot!

I love TF's Bitter Peach 🩷 I bought the body spray (cause it was a lot cheaper lol), my other favorite fragrance from him is Tubereuse Nue, it's a weird sweet synthetic white floral that turns into a carnal suede (on me at least, I've read some reviews of folks who couldn't stand it), the switch from synthetic to natural is so fascinating to me.
