How to wear polka dots

man i wish this thread was how NOT to wear polka dots. that would be more interesting!

i think polka dots looks good on every female body type. i don't think it looks good on men, unless you're going for the androgynous look. i also say stay with basic colors, the pattern of polka dots is enough. anyway, i love the dresses posted above.

My grandfather wore polka dot ties ... I love a man who can pull them off. He also wore raw silk ... so tall and elegant with his beautiful shock of white hair

Polka dots can be so cute, but never cute as an entire outfit.

Maybe a scarf or pleated skirt, but a top and bottom of dots is tacky. :yuk:

^ I've seen it done well

Love the skort, wiw ... the buttons are especially great

^Ty..& for the lovely karma, too...

Maybe I'm mad..
but the idea of combining polka dots of diff. sizes, colors, styles
seems quite fun to me...
It's a challenge... !

^ Still clearing out old magazines, & just came across an article in an old Lucky that was all about polka dots ... they had several combinations of polka dots that worked. Perhaps you're like me & want to do whatever people say can't be done  But let's say you had white on white, or red on white, polka dots ... either would be super easy to combine with your skort.

^ Agreed.
I don't see why it'd be difficult...
Since polka dots are available in such a variety these days...
I like the idea of mixing classic polka dots w/
modern, updated polka dots...
Something abstract...
Or something like the dress softgrey posted^...
If that dress were a top, I think it would look rly nice with my skort...
