University of Glasgow! What did you apply for there? It's odd seeing it mentioned here  I live near it..

One of my schools is sending out its decisions today by email, so I'm paitiently waiting for my turn to log on and see if I've been accepted or not.

I got into my top choice but here's where I applied or planned on applying to.

UPenn, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, U Michigan, UCLA, UC Berkley, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UW Honors, OSU Honors.

:huh:Maybe my list was only 11 after all. I can't remember the others.

I wanted to apply to Berkeley and UW, too, but decided against them for some reason.

You guys are so smart...

I don't know if you do this in Canada, but here in the states, most guidance counselors classify colleges into three categories.

Safeties- Pretty self explanitories; schools the applicant pretty much knows they'll get in to.

Good Matches- Schools that the applicant is pretty sure they'll get into, one where the average student had a high school GPA and got SAT scores close to that college's average.

Reach- For most of us, this is Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. Schools that are darn near impossible to get into, but really interest the applicant.

Ohh I see, thanks for the explanation! ^_^

Here we're recommended to apply to one safety, and at least two good matches.
No one really bothers applying to schools that they know they won't get in. All of the cut-offs for each program at each university are published all over the place, even specific grades for certain classes are known too, so everyone has a good idea of where they can get accepted or not. The most schools that someone applied to (that I know of) was 5 -- she was undecided on what she wanted to study.
I don't think most Canadian universities are as competitive as the ones in the States.

I just checked my online application and I got accepted to both of the programs (Politics and Business) at Ryerson!

Soooo relieved. ^_^

Those are...AMAZING schools. I can't believe you applied to all of those and got in!!! Congratttts!

Anyone ever accepted and matriculated to Washington University in St. Louis? I'd very much like to apply (among other obviously!), but would like to know about the campus, people, classes, etc. I was also under the impressions that it's a pretty difficult school to get accepted to - is this true? I'm planning on visiting in the fall, but some insight before would be much appreciated!

Rejected, again.

I expect one more rejection and, hopefully, two last acceptances.

Northeastern.

The sad part is that I considered that school one of my matches.

I didn't want to apply there, but my mom made me. I don't blame you for deciding against. They're just way too big.
