They're always evolving, but in the wrong way. They're going VERY downhill. Like what is this?

Lagerfeld Gallery S/S05 anyone (and add on to that fuglier)?

thx for posting these pics kimkhuu...

i think 70 looks was way to much...they did NOT need to show a hooded mini 4 TIMES>>>and why do they always do something ridiculous at the end?...
last season it was rope dresses...and now it's this tissue paper/chiffon head wraps...
it's so fashion school...and immature...
*shakes head*...just when i think that maybe they're on the right track...they fall back off...

I like these jackets- though the brown color would have to go ... everything else is blah, blah, gross, blah

softgrey,

What made you think they were on the right track? Certainly not last season's abominations.

I think the main problem with New York fashion week is that it's been taken over by the vanity projects of talentless hacks: Tara Subkoff, Kimora Lee Simmons, Holly Dunlap, Puff Daddy, J.Lo, etc. I don't think New York can be taken seriously as a fashion capital as long as this trash is continued to be shown under the banner of 'New York fashion'.

This is really the worst I've seen from IOC. The design elements are just so amateur and basic. It's laughable. There is not an ounce of talent under Ms. Subkoff's ironies and pretensions. She can reformulate the 70's and 80's in as many 'clever' ways as she wants, but nothing can make up for a skill that just isn't there. I'm really glad she's been exposed though. It makes me think that somewhere, somehow, people can still recognize 'sh*t' when they see it. Good riddance!

And 70 looks?! I feel sorry for those who made the trek uptown to Lever House to sit through 70 exits of this mess.

Bleh and yuk. The colors look like dirty old floor mops and the clothes mostly look like they threw a bale of gauze at the model and pinned it where it landed.

I hate hoodies!

This is the only thing from that whole fiasco that I like one tiny bit. I love that big, drapy, asymetrical collar. Looks kind of like a ripoff of Rei Kawakubo, however.

OH dear, that's absolutely true. Add on to that Tommy Hilfiger, and now Project Runway :ninja: , Sass&Bide, Monique Lhuillier, Michael Kors, Diesel and many many others...... WTF!?? :yuk:

Well, Tommy and Kors and the rest of those you listed are actual designers. There's a difference. But someone like Subkoff is a stylist, nothing more. The rest of 'em (Kimora, Puffy) aren't even that.

this is actually the first collection i could see being a commerical success.

How? This stuff looks like rubbish on the runway I can only imagine how the crap looks up close.

Tommy and Kors being designers..... ? :innocent:

 Technically, yes. They maybe bad designers, but they are designers, no?

Post #3, lowest right: looks like the Wellies character from the old Monty Pythons ("Me brain hurts!")

the jackets are the only thing not screaming "what the f* is this??!"

Yeah, like someone else, I like this. The rest is pretty much crap.

There are some cute basic pieces, but no substace

and what the hell do pills have to do with this?

I totally agree with M-O-M, NY fashion week has become more about who is sitting front row then what's on the runway. It's become all spectacle and headlines but not even in a tactful way.
