OK, I feel silly about saying this and i do expect a very smart someone to say 'yeah, you do look silly', but, we seem to have fallen into a little misunderstanding of guidelines here: if say, skinny_boho gave me the link of an image, i wont post it and credit it saying 'skinny_boho gave it to me'. the comparison may seem quite redundant but the policy against the oversimplicity (and bias) of it applies equally to images that say 'from Interpol Fans in Live Journal'. we all know LiveJournal is almost a forum just like this and it's as non-source as this stupid place, google, music forums, photobucket, imageshack or whatever place you can get an image and link it from.
i know i'm making this too long, I'm a woman of many words but it's my duty to tell you that images from a non-source source will all be pretty much deleted sooner or later (and not neccesarily by me, that's why i'm posting this) so please, gather and pursue some real information before posting it and do post the real sources, please. yes, it does hurt in our deep geeky hearts to share our beloved secret links but...you'll get over it one day.

I know but just the fact that it says community on it is quite suspicious as it is. you have to find out whether the images are a scan or if they come from a website where they were uploaded in in the first place. in case they're a scan, you also have to post the issue where it was featured; in case they're an image from a show, you have to credit the photographer or the place that holds the original image or link. i know you might think it's a bunch of bull but the forum has grown considerably in size and importance over the last year so people who have brought to internet anything art-related, even if they're just pics from a show, they still deserve credit, we cannot adjudicate this to ourselves. it sounds a little nuts but if you think about it, it kind of makes sense and it is just fair.

sorry again about the inconvenience. i'd advice you to at least post the username from the guy who got the image into that community.

but the page it was taken from cannot be open anymore so a girl from other site uploaded it on her account on flickr.

Sorry to go off topic but i'm confused. The images that I posted on the last page were credited. They were all from interpol_fans LJ community, which is the name of the community (www.livejournal.com/community/interpol_fans). do is still need to credit where the original poster in that community got the images from?
