Interview December / January 11.12 : Scarlett Johansson by Sølve Sundsbø

What a very beautiful cover! I love the simplicity, the colors and the text layout! Scarlett looks gorgeous but somehow unrecognizable.

This is completely amazing.

It's photographed by Sølve Sundsbø.

I usually don't like Scarlett and her coves, but I like this one, it's something different.

Thumbs up, she looks like a Bond villain. My only complaint is that I wish that she would have committed more to a strong and intense facial expression.

I can't decide whether I totally love it or totally hate it.

I like the idea, but I can't get past that photoshopped face? Her chin/mouth area looks really tense and the expression on her face is really awkward.

This is the ugliest cover of the year! I don't blame Scarlett because I am sure she is going to ask herself "Oh who is the girl on the cover?" I usually love Sølve Sundsbø work but this? It's a fail on so many levels!! Who did this photoshop retouching and why??

for shame whoever approved that photoshopping...for SHAME

manly and strong, which she's far from--
I actually find her type of figure/beauty to be extremely feminine but with something masculine about it (kind of like Angelina but much softer of course), I don't think it's that hard for magazines to make her look that way, definitely easier than giving her a fragile/ethereal look.. it's probably that versatility what makes editors so attached to her.

I've personally never been a fan of this sexed up/dark/Steven Klein aesthetic, whatever it is , but I think Scarlett looks wonderful, she has an enviable figure.

I think I'm more fascinated with the texture of the wallpaper in the background then I am of the cover's subject. I can't recall seeing a texture or even a background like that on a magazine cover before.

everything from head to toe is shopped to oblivion... I can't envy someone who looks like a wax figure.

Seeing that small preview of Rooney Mara, I really wished they'd given the cover to her but I'm sure this was impossible since she just got a Vogue cover.
