i agree with coleyX3 I am only interested in the tomate as long as it isnt orange. the images i have seen of the true color make it seem like a sexy red. not an orange.

Wow so many T&D colors to come! It's nice to hear that T&D are doing Bois de Rose (such a gorgeous color). I'm hoping to get this color in GSH work. As for Vert D'eau I think I've decided on getting GGH in PT. These 2 colors are probably it for me since too much bags at a time makes a hard time for me to choose which to carry first .

Coleyx3 & Lucy..i concur Tomate is a rich intense red not an orange. (maybe an orangey undertone...but still more red)

I guess the NBF tomate would be a good color to get the Ipad cover in..as the style does not exist nor does the color, so that would be a good way to buy it as an "inspired by piece"

(I've already decided you're getting one) When I saw the Chanel Diaper/Messenger bag I thought it might be exactly what you wanted. Didn't you also mention that you loved the Denim? Re: iPad/Netbook/Laptop covers.... I know it's cool to have something "designer" but I'm such a fan of BuiltNY and they have wicked stuff for just that! Some stuff is designed specifically for Mac or PC.

Considering all the hoopla about the Black leather, it looks nice - in fact almost all the Black bags I have seen so far looked good. Funny how it's never black enough, or too black or wrinkled or not wrinkled enough, it's too veiny, it doesn't have enough veins. If you want perfection, go drop close to $2000 on the auth and stop whining about it. It's a $250 fake f'n bag, what do you want? ColeyX3: I didn't realize that was supposed to be Tomate. I thought it looked a bit too orange, but it looked too pale for even Mandarin. Perhaps it is the Fall 2010 colour, "Non-Muri Tomate" (unripened tomato)

The Bois de Rose bag I looked at on TPF looked really Mauve, at least on my monitor. If that's the case, I would much rather have Lilac as I think it was Orchidian that has the First? I've seen it (not hers) and I agree about its almost grey undertone. After looking at the Bois de Rose on the Bal website I think it might be just a little bit too light for me. It is a really lovely colour though.

Bal have done Tomato 2007 and a Tomate 2010. The 2007 was a bright pure primary school red. The 2010 Tomate is an orange. So if you are looking for a red - then this is not it. It's orange for sure! Hope this helps!?

On here SB I refer to my bags as NBFs or Jackys PS1 or Cattys alexa or Joy's speedy (not that I have any- But if I did) thats what i do/did..i guess I'm a minority..as usual. I refer to Bals when talking about Authentic Balanciaga and use the word NBF to describe my NBF'S so i don't confuse anyone on the thread.
I guess you can call it a Jacky messenger messenger bag or a jacky reissue..it has a certain ring to it as 99% of the time something is different from the authentic which makes it a Jacky design afterall

The only good thing I can say is that most girls I know who buy bals only, just go in and buy them and never have to check that they are the right hue of sang, or HW color or size and so on...because there at Balenciaga, So they have no reference to anything else... I think like you said it's us that knows the differences.B)

NBFs are golden imho.

Sorry for taking so long to get some pictures of my new bags up. I've been super duper busy and only got a chance to take some quick shots with my phone. I've been using it every day since I got it... And I find it pretty much perfect! It fits all of my necessary stuff (iTouch, phone, makeup, keys, snacks, etc) with room to spare. I'm really glad I got the regular size. As I said before, the leather on it is wonderfully soft and smooth, yet is able to keep it's structure when I set it down. It's been a while since I loved a bag so much.

I wasn't able to get the exact shade of the Alexa with my phone, but it's a nice rich tan/oak color. It's closest in color to the picture I took of the Alexa from the back.

I'll try to get some picture of the Jumbo Chanel within the next few days.

Baga: ... I like '07 Tomate better. Red with orange undertone is significantly better than the orange with red undertone that does look strangely like Mandarin. (Which strangely, I like. )
I'm on the fence too, Shellybean, about Bois de Rose. It is a beautiful color but merciful heavens, I'm PETRIFIED it won't go a week w/o being filthy. I may as well take stock in Woolite right now.

Strangely, as this topic has come up, I saw a girl with a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Bal rep at a restaurant today. I mean it was HORRID. SUPER BAD. And I thought lovingly about my bal reps at the house... I don't care what anyone says. There is a diff between a bad bad fake and a super good rep. (At least to me.) I don't see much Bal where I live and when I do, typically I'm not carrying mine for some reason or another. Honestly, I don't worry about it. The boys reps are SPOT ON! I carry with confidence. ;-)

Are we going to get some Bleu Roi pics anytime soon? And didn't Bal do bleu roi before? '06 or '07??? Or was that blueberry?

As for me, I am now the proud owner of this.....
I sent my payment this morning, and got what I think to be a pretty skookum deal. I don't know why but something about it just kind of spoke to me. Doesn't matter to me what colour it is; Sang, Poupre, Grenat, Ruby, Rouge Theatre, I figure it's an RH Day so I don't need to worry. I don't have a red bag and I think it will be a great go-to piece to wear with my Parisian-style wardrobe, jeans, casual summer dresses etc. and will take me through to winter again (though I'm almost positive it hasn't left yet - brutal!) It will be shipped with my Vert D'eau Twiggy. *also from what I've understood, vert d'eau is ready for shipment 10 days after payment. Does that sound right to y'all? Whatever, I'll expect it sometime around the end of July. ~lowered expectations~.......

Alas i am on the completley different end of the spectrum as you with being in a city and a industry where every one I meet and work with is either carrying an authentic Bal or another authentic high end brand, I never went in for the LV's or any other status brand.

I only did tarrago dye and used #18 (black) i think SMkelly used Fieblings and tarrago.

Thank you so much Baga I hope I can be a good contributor. There is so much great info in these threads, not even just about reps but general leather care and maintenance. One of the BEST tips I've ever learned came from one of these TFS ioffer threads - use your hands to work in your leather conditioner. Was that one of your gems? I think it was posted around the time Limmiet shared the Egyptian Magic tip with us. Was it Limmiet's idea? Anyway, I think of all these years I've been using cloths on my boots, auth bags, leather jackets, etc. and the difference that using your hands makes!

I love how many of the posters in here are DIY'ers and all the clever ideas that have been shared to make leather and hardware (regardless of what it's attached to) look its best.

You are SO right about most people who buy auths not scrutinizing every detail, hue, etc. Even still, if I lived in NYC and was in your industry I would want to carry only auths too. I really need to take this over to the "why do you own both reps and authentic" thread because I have more to add for sure.

You make a great point. These NBFs are reps that are a fraction of the price of the authentic and T&D does a damn fine job. Of course it's great when we get a rep with incredible leather, but I'm trying to be much, much less picky. One thing I always keep in mind, which has been mentioned here before of course, is the variance in the auth Bal leathers too. I see complaints on the other forum of dry bags, leather too thin, don't like the texture/look, etc.

Speaking of incredible T&D leather...congrats on your Sang RH Day. What an amazing bag that will be! All that delicious, slouchy Sang leather is going to be unreal in the Day style.

LOL true! It's easy to get paranoid when you (by you I mean me ) spend to much time reading the other forum. Even in a big city, think of the percentage of people who are going to know the ultra specific details of the particular brand and style of rep you're carrying. Even though I now know all these little ways to spot a fake Bal (wow I feel so enriched as a person now lol) I really only know what's going on with the few silhouettes that I've looked into. Another brand? Hermes, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, AW, etc? I don't even know what style is what so no way would I know if something if one is a replica! This is where QUALITY materials and workmanship comes into play imo and where I think T&D nails it. If I see someone walking down the street with a stunning bag, outstanding leather, perfect stitching, gorgeous hardware (if it's a hardware bag) etc. I'm just going to think what a great bag it is and not instantly start picking at authenticity details.

I think the NBF anthr looks dark like the 09 version or maybe 07 - the 08 seemed to have a lighter shade in the FW collection? also i know you girls think their galet is lighter - is it more like the argent or greige? oh well! i still love their colours i'm thinking about getting the lighter colors in accessories - like a money or CP anyone? i'm not a light bag girl generally, after protecting/conditioning my bags when i first get them, i just don't care for them properly so if i bought the lighter colours (papette, sorbet) i wouldn't use them much at all for fear or wine, food, coffee, dirt stains, my kids sticky hands and the crap they put next to AND in my bags LOL!!
