It's one of the most sought-after combos Bal ever made... and for good reason! <3 You won't be disappointed, I promise!VD looks scrumptious but I know that I'm more of a neutral gal so I could never pull off the color no matter how yummy it is. I LOVE grey, and galet has a very subtle beige tone (I even spot it a little in NBF's version) so it is just perfect for me. If I ever pulled the trigger on a VD, it would just be because of the raving reviews for the leather and how it's 'sought after' - for me, I would get the color you'll wear the most!!
I'm a little apprehensive of the Galet, but um, all the photos I've seen so far are uh - AMAZING.
Shinyness is no match for leather revive! 
It's a little greyer than I imagined it would be, but it is still lovely, omg, I will be wearing this bag everywhere. I haven't received my tracking info. either, and I don't know if my bag has been sent out yet, but I am in the states, so that may be why.LadyLuxe: That was an awesome leather product that you recommended!! 
I had to run out and get the bottle but not to worry, there were tons left!

after reading some reviews I don't think it's the bag for me ^ JOanne and Ladyluxe: Can you get the leather cleaner/de-shiner you used in Canada? Or better yet would someone mind posting a picture of the bottle-- I've been "googling" 4in1 leather cleaner all morning and jeez there's like hundreds of random products?!

So, I'm patiently waiting for my galet city RH bag. I'm hoping I made the right decision in ordering the RH. The GSH and GGH look amazing on the galet, but I don't have a RH city so that's why I ordered it.
I'm still debating buying the Jacky's Roco with the strap. If the leather isn't pebbled like his old one, I don't want it.
I'm also very close to ordering a few things from Joy. By the way, does anyone know how Joy's Alexander Wang bags compare to Jacky's??

very_shop - LOVE your galet RH city! it is so classic bal to me...def has something to do with the color. i really like the galet bags with RH.

I received my Galet GSH City today. I'm located in CA, USA. I think the bag is lovely, but yes, the leather could be a bit less shiny. As for the leather quality, it's definitely different than my Outremer Twiggy. The Galet leather seems thinner and less course than the Outremer. Outremer was definitely more "chewy" and a bit thicker.
My bag has no smell. Actually, it smells "leathery" to me, which isn't what my Outremer smelled like when I got it. That bag smelled like chemicals and needed to be aired out. Galet smells lovely like leather. <3 Maybe I got lucky...
That being said, I only have one authentic bal to compare it to...it's an Argent GSH Day bag, but it was heavily treated by LMB products from the previous owner, so it's not the best comparison because it's in VERY USED condition (and unfortunately I still haven't seen any other real Bal in real life). The thickness of the leather on my Argent day bag is pretty similar to the Galet that I just received, though. A bit thinner and VERY puddley. The Galet just puddles out of the box (bag). One thing to note, though, the texture on Galet is very smooth. I'd say the texture on my Argent and the NBF Outremer is definitely a bit more course. Galet leather texture (as in, how the surface feels when you touch it) is smooth and slick. But that might be because of all the shine coating on this bag. Are authentic Bals smooth and slick out of the bag? I'm inclined to say that they're not. Can someone advise?
I think my biggest issues with this bag, and what make me possibly not love it so much is:
- The Shine - I associate "shine" with cheaper leather. I hope this shine can go away. Is there anything that will remove some of the shine coating?
To anyone who has seen other Auth Bals, what kind of shine do they have? Are they shiny at first and will this wear off? I feel like too much shine could give away the bag.
- The Bales - This bothered me about my NBF Outremer Twiggy too. The bales are off and I feel like it gives the bag away. The bales should have a curve/dip in them, but they don't. I tried to use pliers to bend the bales on my Outremer Twiggy, but it was way too difficult. I couldn't do it. I realize I'm being very picky and a perfectionist about this, but this specific detail really bothers me about the bag and makes me not want to carry it.
Oh, one last thing...
I ordered a bottle of the 4in1 Leather Cleaner off of eBay to give it a try. It was only about $14 for shipping to USA from UK. The one I ordered is called HG Hagesan 4 in 1 For Leather Cleaner , Conditioner. I hope that's the one you all are having good success with, because that's what I ordered.

bonne: I had the same problem with my Black RH City - the leather was shiny and a bit thin. I have to say without a doubt that Leather Revive is a godsend. It will TAKE the shine away, leaving behind moist and supple leather. However, if you take a look at photos from the other forum (in the reference thread), auth bals vary and there are many that are "slick" and shiny right out of the box. I've felt an authentic bal before and looked at a few, and I can attest to the fact that some of them are shinier. However, like I said, if you prefer a more matte leather, get Leather Revive or hop into your nearest cobbler to see what kind of options they have.
The bales also bother me because I am a nitpicker. Details really bug me as the bales are what gives away the bag. I think though, that we notice what others don't. If we're walking around with our NBFs, no one is going to ask to inspect it! They'll likely be admiring them. That being said, I am thinking about buying a strap from fang just because her bales are perfect.
At the moment, she said she doesn't have the Galet color, though.

Ladies what are these bales that you speak of?
I e-mailed the guys about wanting Bleu Roi and they said they would put me on the list...I would go ahead and send them an e-mail
I am also waiting for sorbet which they said will be hopefully shipped sometimes next week fingers X'd- Status
