^^ I have a couple of GSH bags from T&D and they are not as shiny/sparkly as the auth GSH. But you can always claim that the GSH of your NBF bag has tarnished with use if anyone asks. The auth GSH/GGH does tarnish over time too.

ETA: My NBF GSH is quite durable. No loose, wonky bits. I have noticed that the 'thimbles' of my GGH bags from NBF do show slight tarnish (along the circumference of the top of each 'thimble'), but I've not noticed such a problem with GSH. Maybe this doesn't show up that much on GSH.

the reason t&d have to get a certain number of confirmed orders for GGH or GSH is because the fabric attached to the zips is dyed to match the bag. if they have 30 anthra or sorbet color matched zips and only make 5 bags, then they have 25 unused zips that can't be used for any other bags. and if they do use all those zips by making stock, then they've got tons of unsold bags lying around in hardware that wasn't in popular demand--essentially wasting leather. that's considered a loss in any business.

^^ Well explained. Which is why taking on extra black zippers is often not a problem as black is almost always a number one seller.

Most accessories businesses who order small quantities are run like this. If they do not have enough orders to fill the minimum, they simply will not order it.

But I still think that having a stock of black or anthra zips would make choices availability and options easier for repeat customers..I agree sorbet and turquoise zippers would be wasteful..But it would be nice to know you can always order a black or an anthra NBF bag from them in any style or color combo... YKWIM?
I know they used to have lots of unsold (already made up) bags back in the day...But i think if they always had a black leather and or a seasonal popular color on hand they would create more business...Just my opinion.

luna- i agree and understand the concept..but it would be nice to change things up a bit and expand and offer an option or 2 on a constant basis..me thinks.

kimkhuu- I have a black day with GSH and its quite bright and shiny..no chips or flakes....I also have 2 GGH bags, neither have flaked or chipped.

how heavy is it compared to bal bags? i know it's heavier than RH, is it lighter than GH?

I have a large PS1, RH Bal city and GH Bal city and the PS1 feels much lighter than the GH city. The bag is not that heavy in general.

bbs - thanks for the clarification on the darcy. i've only seen the silver on both.

i have a few GGH bags and only my naturel brief has started to fade, but in all honesty, that bag is over four years old at this point and was carried for 4-6 months straight when i first received it and then again when i fell in love with it about two years later. mine hasn't turned, but it isn't quite as yellow gold as it once was.

baga - i agree about the GGH zips. i mean black GGH is NEVER going to get old; there's ALWAYS going to be a market for it, even if it isn't through pre-pays. i think the boys may not have a big enough operation to have tons of bags in overstock, stored, etc. so they just produce what they know they will sell. that's the only reasoning i can see.

Luna - I received Jacky's LV SC about 3 weeks ago. It is a gorgeous bag and very well made. I don't quite have the guts to bring it into my local LV boutique to compare, but i have tried on the real one and, from from my recollection, its pretty spot on ( a few girls have said the same thing when i did some research on this thread). HOWEVER, my bag got slightly ruined in transit (search for one of my last posts for details and photos). if you do buy, insist that the jackster wrap the bag well to save it from the early signs of aging aka frown lines

amethyst sparkle - it might be a bit of a personal question, but i am just fascinated by the amount of bags you have. saw pics back in the thread a while ago and i had major bag envy! such a wonderful collection! i only wonder this because i never know what to say to people when they see my bags - do you tell people that your bags are real if they ask? i get people that ask all the time and i always tell them that they are from the magical land of china, especially if i know them. to strangers, i always say the bag is a gift (in other words, a polite 'mind your own business'). I am in the fortunate position where i could afford the occasional designer purchase, but when i carry a bag that could cost between $1500-$2500 i get a bit conscious.....i appreciate anyones input on this one as its been playing on my mind lately!

Dopagenic: I'm going to be contrary and say I found my ps1 heavier than my gsh city I think it's just the city molds to you like it's part of you whereas the ps1 is more effort to carry so it felt heavier to me. Unfortunatley I sold my ps1 or I'd weigh it for you

Yep, a few boutiques are within 30- 40 min. of me. I'm going to call first to see if one in particular has both styles in both sizes. My plan is to go tomorrow.

*DiorKiss and devon*: Are you referring to the black for the bags that T & D are just now being made? I didn't think anyone had those bags yet...or very few? I have an Antrha and a Black on order. I am assuming that they will hold my Anthra until the black is completed so they can ship together.

Agreed. I think anything in the black, gray, beige/brown family would sell well if they had it in stock regularly. Don't throw stones, BUT, as lovely as the other actual *colors* are, imo, neutral colors would be more practical for them to keep on hand.

Chupi: I love the leather on my sang. Outremer was nice but I prefer the thicker, less bumpyness of sang.

Rocco fans: I went to Barneys today and fell for the rocco with the strap. I had no idea it was soooooo awesome a bag. I noticed that they had a dark blue almost purple color and wonder if Jacky has any plans to make this. I went ahead and got a black one today but would love to get more in different colors. The two little side pouches are just genius and it's amazing how much this bag can carry. My ipad even comfortably fits!!

Understood you'd like more variety - but it really does come down to supply and demand. They aren't a huge business if you think about it.

Chupi no I didn't order anything in sang but compared to all the other colors I have the outremer is way up there with the best looks like the sang was a winner too

only a day or two left before I see my baby rocco let the countdown begin oh yes and my LV zippy almost forgot about her

I have the LV SC bag in cobalt LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! A good friend's mother has the auth and I was able to compare briefly and Jacky's is really well made. Almost identical to the eye except that my handles had some wrinkling were the sealing(?) is and hers didn't.

Also the auth is slightly more smoother to the touch. But that's really about it.

About the GGH fading...My black city ggh is noticeably paler after using it everyday for about 3 months now Even the corners on the buckles are starting to turn a little white. I'm thinking of trying Bagalicious's ggh enhancement formula

I posted the formula back on an older thread..if you cant find it, PM me, and i will send it to you.
I love this bag...I don't attach the shoulder strap when using this bag anymore because I am not comfortable with the bales..problem solved.

thesiren- the marine 08 was made with GGH in the EC, and I am sure that bleu roi can pass for marine I love this combo so classy it could be dressed up or great with a casual look too
