Isn't this site TOO american?

I don't even know what Juicy Couture is...It's not available here in Holland so I am not even gonna look at it since I hear that everyone hates it here :p

Believe me,I can understand where emi is coming from. There's already so many devoted to trends and disugusting banality...and they all seem to appear to come from America.

But this site is a cut way above those. As you navigate through the forums,I think you'll begin to find there are alot of intelligent people here. One's who really do appreciate creativity(even from alot of Americans),design and actual style.

I don't think many of us would have even bothered to post here if it weren't that way.

thanks maarit...ale's in there too....and he's in miami...
but overall...it's remarkably diverse... :woot:

As mentioned by another member in this thread I too stumbled across this forum by accident.

I had lived/worked in California for a year before coming home and I was really missing the lifestyle in the US.
So I searched for several US-based forums but all those that I found were really boring. It was really all about Juicy-Uggs-and yes, the latest cherry print LV bags :p

I find TFS to be a cut above the rest. I think there are a lot of professionals (not just from US), who work in the fashion industry here and initially I must admit that I was somewhat intimidated to post anything for fear of looking silly.

Reading TFS has really broadened my scope and I truly enjoy all the opinions that I read here. It is not US-centric at all. There are lots of people everywhere reading and posting at TFS and my life is all the richer for the interactive experience that I have here :flower:

You can show us the Italian style.

I hope and pray that you are aware that argentina is in south america

euro meets usa

I live in manhattan but I would like to move to stockholm sweden. if that's too cold I'll consider roma, italia.
other than that I just visit miami and other florida cities and long island NY in the summer & fall.

I, too, found this site by accident. I love it here and was hooked from the first visit. I say that even if the majority is American, it seems to be the Americans that want something different and don't care at all to be apart of the cookie cutter, money driven, mass produced things lacking in quality and style. This place has helped me soooo much to develop my style. For that, I love this place.

 everyone lets just say Earth has lots of different fashions in sub-cultures.... i think that all areas have a big range of how people dress.... it must be an earth thing :alien:

I'm just waiting for our first extraterrestrial member.

I think TFS is very multinational...but reading this thread I do see a lot of "stereotypes" being used to justify whether it is or isn't. We have to understand that not everyone from one place is the same way - not all Americans don't appreciate creativity, are rude, only like Juicy Couture...just like not all French people are snobbish and only wear Chanel! There's way too much diversity to lump everyone together. :)

Loooove this site!

 I'm a newcomer here, as you can see by the number of posts. This fashion site is so far the most informative, varied, fun and POLITE (thank God for that!) that I have ever come accross. I got square eyes the first time I read it and I kept thinking "I can't believe no one gets agressive or rude or cynical to anyone else".

I'll be coming back! In the meantime, my pile of ironing looks like the peaks of the Himalaya's.

Keep it up!

I agree......and to again state my point that this site is not too american at all: ever since I ran into tFs, I've been having conversations on MSN with people from every continent on a daily basis. My knowledge of international cultures has grown so vastly since I came here. Plus, it's always nice to have intrernational contacts I think ^_^

It isn't a problem at all, but a lot of this site is recognisable as american, probably imparticularly to non-americans. It's just little things like this that I always notice:

The "Stockholm, Sweden" and "Roma, Italia" is something I never hear in the UK, we'd just assume you meant Stockholm in Sweden (are there others?) but I guess it originates from you stealing all our place names and reusing them in loads of different states because you can't think of enough of your own:p

I love this site and I'm italian...i really don't think it's just for americans... what's wrong with americans anyway?????????I love USA kinda fashion!!!
