I think the whole Ivana HELSINKI/ Paola Suhonen thing has really exploded in Helsinki. I mean the woman is designing ice-cream bars and dispocable cups with tent-prints. I'm so sick of it.

and also I have a friend who is a total IvanaHELSINKI maniac. she owns like everything Paola Suhonen has ever made and wears it head to toe.

I have to confess that I own a wintercoat by IvanaHELSINKI, but it has no prints, so I can pretend it's something else

Urd, I must admit though that I was also getting a bit sick of the same kind of prints done over and over again but that's why I like the Rouva collection- it's different and very much my style. I think this is her best collection yet.

What a bore the label is! Downright I´d be ashamed as H*ll being caugh up under thouse clothes. This ivana-thing is just the usual finnish story. We have couple of these kind of "extreme finnish" labels that do really well. People just LOVE LOVE LOVE to wear something original and ugrig, to set them apart from other nations....

And still there´s a constant question in the air... How come the finns dress up so BADLY??

I can't stand that crap either. i think it's kinda bad scandinavian take on Eley Kishimoto and she's shamelessly stealing 60s and 70s Marimekko designs (those coinpurses for example), but so have so many others including Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu. Whizkit, Marimekko of our times is quite awful indeed, but you should check out the original stuff from 30 years back. it still manages to look incredible, sexy and modern. Marimekko was among greatest 60s pioneers among Rabanne, Courreges and Gernreich...

ivana helsinki is not a she, its the company, paula suhonen is the designer (sorry someone was referring to ivana helsinki as a person).

i think the rouva stuff is a lot better than the tent prints and the other older stuff......which i also thought were rather too simple and quite hard cuts..

this rouva collection also has more soft and feminine cuts and lines...

and avia, i think finns have started to dress more better and you can not really say everyone in finland dresses bad. i follow the fashion, and not some teeny trends, i mean real fashion....i think in big cities people dress more nice and this is really the case also in sweden. if you go anywhere out of stockholm (except maybe malmö) people dont care too much about their clothes either...

i think in finland men/guys dress horrible, not so much the girls. i see these half baggy or too baggy sh*t jeans everywhere, stupid tight t-shirt and some metal pearl necklaces with beanies......looks so gross. and then some monster size shoes to top it all.

but i do get some weird looks when i wear my tapered skinny jeans out of the bigger cities..and i hate how in few years everyone will wake up and realize that flares are out and start wearing tapered jeans like they are the biggest thing. and the trend has already passed by.....

I had two japanese girls in my college and they were absolutely crazy about IvanaHelsinki, when I went to Finland, they gave me a list of clothes that they want from them and also from Marimekko. So cool!

I once saw a picture of Cameron Diaz wearing their shirt, does anyone have that pics, I tried to find it, but couldn't...

i think the s/s 2006 is amazing! finally there is something good coming from ivana helsinki. tapered jeans and all!!!!!!!! and i love some of the tops and dresses... go finland!
