Jacquemus F/W 2021.22 Paris

What kind of gay man is unable to design for men?? He needs to stop.
I root for him now only because he's hot, but that won't last.
He needs to launch a fragrance, because the clothes, and tiny (stupid) bags aren't working for me.

So what your saying is that if there was a talented fat designer you wouldn’t route for them? Instead you would go for the attractive hack with no taste or imagination? Looks have nothing to do with work unless that is his profession. He’s not a model or an actor. He’s a designer, and you should be judging him solely on his work, not his looks.

 I enjoy this unapologetic sincerity.. fashion could benefit from less bs and call things as they are, we all know Jacquemus’ success is largely due to being gorgeous, hot and therefore aspirational.. it’s him and the lifestyle his hotness has brought him what has made people pay extra close attention and ultimately consume and nod at his work.. the success of such.. rags would’ve never happened if he looked plain and forgettable or worse, if.. yeah, he looked like Derek Lam.

I can understand the appeal of his womenswear but the menswear, my eyes are bleeding.

After all these years, he is not able to have decent tailoring. The basics are not mastered at all which is concerning. He is one of these Instagram designers just like we have instamodels.

In the end, if brands such as FashionNova, Shein & co can make millions of profits, he can too because for me he belongs to them.

The word you were looking for is root, not route. Carry on...

I have friends that brought his tiny little bag, but the are fashion insiders and I never understand why. Haha
His clothes are surprisingly nice on the rag, I didn't remember them from the runway, but it looks nice in real.
And for his collection, I really think he need a stronger technical team, his clothes needs to be more refined.
Lower price doesn't mean you can have bad cutting and craftsmanship, because you are not Zara or H&M price point.

I saw that his stuff are new arrivals on Net-a-Porter and they are below 200 pounds. So I feel like he's already reduced the price point. But anyway, I feel for Simon. It seems like he can't take the success and run further with it. This collection definitely shows that. With his limited design vocabulary, the collection is left with trendy pieces. Items created for the hypebeasts. (You see the difference when at the beginning he designs and they desire, now he just feeds them from what they are already after.)

At this point, he could have done more with the house, investing in better tailoring (like god, girl get it together!) And maybe design accessories that will actually make money. I am sure he can do perfumes and stuff too. Or just open OnlyFans as a sideline, he would get tons of money from that

why is he doing off-white vibes now? weird evolution.

I really liked his sexy easy breezy french riviera vibes and silhouettes he did before.

Fair enough if you don't like his clothes or designs, but some of the comments in here are incredibly rude and just plainly disrespectful! The only 'he should do p*rn/ Only Fans' thing is very tiring, and would we say that about a female designer? Obviously not because that would be (rightly, may I add) seen as sexist. So why is it okay to say this about Simon?

I, for one, enjoyed the collection. It may not be as sophisticated as most other designers, but it's colourful and very wearable and if I had the budget, I would happily wear some of the items. Because yes, while some of you may think this is a cheap mess, for most people it's still expensive clothing.

I wish he, and everyone else for that matter, would put "plus size" models down the runway in clothes that look GOOD on them. Is it really that hard? Just this past year everyone's approach regarding size, race, whatever, has been executed in such a "deer in the headlights with a car going at it 100 mph" way it's just
It is very hard due to a lot of factor. For a majority fashion houses this kind of silhouette show on the runway is only for PR reason. Production collection in very large size is problematic from financial and organize atelier. In reality you need a few different atelier with experience tailoring and maker pattern. You have first atelier where create prototype all silhouette -this clothes we see on the runway and next specialize in bigger size which they have change ratio in pattern - this is very hard because your models body is very different. A lot of patters in sew was created when the majority of people was slim. You can buy or find the most popural patters for free.
Next problem cost of clothes when you would wide proposal retail, for example 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 55. In production cost of three close size is very simillar but difference between 32 and 50 size is huge. People accustomed one price from old days. In reality all size should be different price.
Off topic, Cristóbal Balenciaga loved desiging clothe for women with not typical body because he could created new person.

Because Simon exploits this sexy side of him as a designer, to a limit where his new shirtless pic is far more interesting than his new collection.

I mean taste is subjective, quality is less so...and yes this is definitely expensive for what it is but it's cheap looking regardless of the price tag.
