Pretty no?

And 'Adolescent Sex' is like 'Teenage Kicks' hardcore remix!

soem of you may be mature enough to recall DS being called 'the world's most beautiful man.'

japan was a fine uk prog/romantic rock band;

but DS' own solo work is really great:
look for his classic LP 'brilliant trees'
and the 45's 'red guitar'

and theres a song with riyuichi sakamoto on the 'mr lawrence' soundtrack thats great too....'forbidden colours' or something??

David Sylvian is pretty good. I've never heard Japan before. It's weird, someone once asked me if my music was influenced by these two artists. And that was before I had even heard David Sylvian.

japan

japan is an importnat uk rock band to know from late 70s/early 80s.
kind of like roxy music gone 1 more step progressive & world with asian influences.
visions of china is great...
they had a bunch of hits...
and theres another hit I cant remeber that junior did an awesome dance mix of...
sylvians solo work is worth investigating,
he goes almost fusion with jazzy & world & B asian influences- very ambitious & amazing musicianship.

Perhaps we could here a little sample of your music, alex? As a tFS exclusive?

thanks for the thread, prince... ... i love japan

For the younger kids among us, Sylvian also recently recorded a song called "The Messenger" with Blonde Redhead. Lovely, lovely song.

Anyway, I wholeheartedly second the recommendation for anything by Sylvian or Japan, and especially for Brilliant Trees. One fo my all-time favourite albums, that.

 is it acceptable to place them/him with the New Romantics?; because I  both them/him and the genre, either seperately or as one.

Has anyone been digging the recent collaborative project he did called Nine Horses?
