Jason Wu F/W 10.11 New York

I love the gold. However something is off about the dresses, maybe it's the shape?

^ it's the pink feathers that ruin it all for me! i don't like them :(

is the elle.com photo series the complete collection or is there more? because karlie's dress was left out of that shot. wondering if anyone has the full collection from catwalking; i dont have access.

Loving some of the dresses... the ones with the "right" shape (some of them just look too awkward to me)... one looks vaguely similar to Rodarte, but perhaps that's why I love it.

some of the gold pieces are so cute...and the second to last dress is great, loving the darker shoes...i agree it feels more like a spring collection, overall

↑ Well the finale dress is there.. Hmm. Did she have two changes? I like this collection in general. The cocktail dresses had exquisite detailing and looked "expensive", which is of course something most people want. Loved the finale dress too. But other dresses look almost too structured they're like costumes. Still like it though! ^_^ Oh, and... ok no model talk.

^ Karlie's dress is up there at the last batch :flower: funny how all those
buyers at the frontrow are gawking at her dress

first half reminds me of Marni, second half Valentino, old hollywood belle
flavor. good collection though, Wu's done an excellent job with variety and
color. all very wearable.

some of the dresses looks like it will fall off of the model
the volume of the garments look too...not well done. looks like he just did it very last minute or the fabric is not draping very well.

there are some nice A-line shift dresses with a mix of nice color and fabric, however

I like the materials and hand-work, but the shapes seem to be all wrong... For some pieces it works quite good, but for others... Not that much flattering, I'm afraid... I agree, first half very Marnish and the second...hum...can't really picture what...the dresses are quite amazing, especially Karlie's... :)

i must've made the comment while the last portion of the collection was being uploaded; disregard. :D

I really like the gold splatted on those dresses, like the red one. And I like the grand silhouette on dresses like Dorothea's. Not blown away but satisfied overall.

The Hair:

Just caught a glimpse of the hair look that stylist extraordinaire Odile Gilbert created for Jason Wu's fall/winter show! She straightened the hair, parted it in the middle, and created a slightly rounded, soft shape around the head while gathering the rest of the hair into a low ponytail. A black elastic was tied around the length of the tail and then she twisted it into a bun. The softness of the hair in the front combined with the edginess of the black elastic woven through the tight bun perfectly evokes the strength of femininity... But Odile herself put it best: "There's a saying in France that goes, 'Iron fist in a velvet glove...'"

i agree about the shapes, some of the dresses just look frumpy and ill fitting on the models. Like Liu Wen's dress, the torso is so full, it makes her look thicker in that area.

It's just OK. It's very Jason Wu though, I see a lot of references to his past collections. But IA, the dresses are a bit frumpy/

Better than A. Wang OF COURSE!! But he still has a loooooong long way to go. It's a bit of a mess but he's making some not-so-lame things.

The Show looks beautiful i cant wait to see the whole collection
