the problem with this entire thing is that jennifer lopez is nothing if not a fashion faux pas. to put her on a magazine that heralds international fashion stars like nicole kidman, catherine zeta jones, gwyneth paltrow, and sarah jessica parker , diminishes that...i think that anna wintour realized that a long time ago and i would like to see if this actually materializes...the last time these rumors were spreading about jennifer lopez had already shot the cover and it was ready to go but anna said that she would never have jennifer lopez on the cover...that was the rumor...and that's been a couple of years.

as much as i hate the actress extravaganza us vogue has had, i think there are several other starlets that have a laudable fashion sense before j. lo.

but there are also rumors that ms. lopez is trying to turn around and become a "serious" movie star ... perhaps this cover will coincide with her cinematic redemption (think about madonna before and after evita....)

I want to note, also, that it would be a wrong move for Vogue to put J.Lo on the cover because she is slowly vanishing from the public's eye. Most probably because of her much-publisized break-up, that made people sick of her because she was all over the place.

i actually think she is still a major star. I m not her biggest fan but at the same time i want to see her on that cover and not another nicole,gwyneth,reese,sjp cover. Angelina Jolie did good didnt she yet she s not 'fashion faux pas'
Another thing i dont want them to put a vogue..ised jennifer, they should put the real jennifer.

Okay, here's my two cents but first some facts about me,
I can't stand Jen (I respect people's wishes to be called or not called a certain name.)
I think she is the best example of a media-wh*re.
I want her to go away, quickly.

With that out of the way, I'm glad she's making the cover of Vogue. I found it incredibly wrong and hypocritcal of Anna to never put Jen on the cover. There wasn't a bigger star in the world last year and now a days all you need is a couple of movies and a high profile boyfriend to make the cover of Vogue. Whether you appreciated Jen's style or not, you can't deny she became a major figure in the style areana. She has a brand (crap or not) of her own, a Louis Vuitton campaign and the most talked about dress (infamy or not) in years but she's getting passed up for people like Sandra Bullock, who even in the height of her career had no fashion image whatsoever. I wish Julia Stegner and Tiiu would make the covers, but that's not the reality of US Vogue.

Now..now..I believe your 'sources' need to be updated...her line is believed to do $400M plus this year after having surpased expected figures...that's NO small piece of pie..and as MY SOURCES tell me...the line is one of the top five junior brands at Federated must not be so 'horrible' after all huh?
