Jil Sander S/S 2026 Milan

Surprised at all the positive comments; for me this feels like a total non-event, the clothes are forgettable and say nothing to me. Of course this is more true to Jil's ethos than anything any of the post JS creative directors have delivered but I still find it all very mundane. It is only his first collection though, so perhaps more of a clear voice will come through in the future.
Indeed.

It’s not bad, but it’s just a total NONEVENT as you said. It’s literally nothing.

Something we’ve seen here and there a million times. Pure boredom.

It's certainly the most 'Jil Sander' this brand has looked in years. Clean lines, practical shapes (mostly), and simple color blocking.

But I think it's a very MODEST interpretation of Jil's work. I really don't want to call it "lukewarm" because that just feels unfair, but it's just very safe.

I think it’s more reassuring than good.
The collection solved 3 issues I had from the couple: the feeling of clothes for an active life, the color palette, the energy.

I don’t know if the men and women who wore JS are thrilled to wear skinny clothes again though.

I wonder if all of you who point out the resemblance with the Jil Sander of yesterday gave as much attention to Jil‘s own brief return to her brand post-Raf and during her three collection spanning run at Uniqlo a few years back. How warmly did y'all welcome the silhouettes and the cut of her clothes then, which was quite different to Belotti's, which is much closer to the trim 1990ies cut of Jil Sander - The thing everybody still associates with her.

I don‘t think people really want to wear the rather strict and disciplined 1990ies Jil Sander uniform in 2026 - You don‘t go to a brand like that to buy a minimal black blazer for 2000€ and white shirt for 900€ - People have moved on from that, brands like COS and especially Jil Sander‘s +J collection made it clear that these kind of products don‘t have to cost that price to deliver quality and intricacy of design.

The ethos of the Sander brand is build on a sense of class, a quality Jil Sander has often described to seek in her design. That is a fundamentally different thing than prestige, which is why some of the logo-heavy stuff from the Meier‘s commercial collection felt wrong for the brand.

This is pure genius and she also gives me the creeps: She commented “Raf Simons A/W 2009 soundtrack was the same as today’s Prada S/S 2026 soundtrack” underneath the visual…

Wow I take back what I said, a solid debut Mr Simone. A few flops and maybe consider a new shoe designer, but overall I Iiked it. Interested to see more from him
