John Galliano Pre-Fall 2012

Really drab and sad for a Galliano collection. Just give the man his job back already.

I'm still in denial of relating this to Galliano in any way.

Poor Melissa, first she has to wear the Dior pre-fall rags, now look pretty in this hobby line gone wrong. Even her beauty cant bring life to these drab sacks.

that mercury silvery long skirt is tragic.

but I do like all the other stuff (so far? or is this it?).

under a different brand, it would've worked.

unfortunately he's still not able to harness the Galliano touch the way Sarah has been steering the McQueen label.

That third suit looks like a Nina Ricci/Rochas mash-up. It's okay.

They might as well remove the "John Galliano" label entirely at this point...either that or shut this label completely...: /....

Some of the pieces look nice but in general, this is a preview of a really sad collection. I still cannot understand why Gaytten cannot just draw more inspiration from the archives and stay true to the brand. He seems desperate to make his own mark but it is clearly not working. I feel really sorry for Mr Galliano. Seeing someone rubbish your namesake brand while your still alive must be heartbreaking :(

Seriously. What the hell. That's the fugliest outfit I've ever seen. Everything about this is just wrong.
I know right? I suppose it's homeless couture meets yokel chic. :ninja:
As for the rest of the collection...it pains me to see what has happened to Galliano's very own legacy.

still trying to figure out why this is still a line if he isnt designing for them. If people still purchase his namesake line then why not just give it back to him

I wonder what John thinks of that elasticated silver skirt..
Apart from the slight inclusion of the bias cut in that last dress, this could literally be Gaytten for Dior - there's the Bar jacket and the little faux-pocket hip details of Christian Dior, and there's even some Sarah Burton with that awkward, fragile-looking drape of that mustard jacket.
John's own house was supposed to be 100x more draped/experimental/exciting/beautiful than his work at Dior, this is not reflected here.

Tippi Hedren ispiration? the lookbook looks better but it's still basic and boring as hell. Just shut down this house if you don't want to give it back to john

It's all just...clothes? Like, it's decent but it isn't anything to rave about..funnily enough, John Galliano isn't really the same without John Galliano.
