If I remember well, it’s illegal in French law. You can’t be downgraded from your position in the same company. So if she didn’t want to leave (which is weird because it’s not a secret that she wants to live in Italy full time), they probably proposed an equivalent role at another house.

France doesn't do at-will employment so they need a really good reason to fire her.

How did LVMH walk into this situation in the first place? Did the law prevent them from offering her the CD position as a contractor on the condition that she resign as an employee?

And do we have any idea what she's suing for (not necessarily the thing same as whatever settlement she may be hoping to achieve)? Indefinite employment until she chooses to retire?

Its logic being part of the group he has the luxury to start the transition before July its the biggest brand of the group makes sense to start meeting your teams ask things see your office meet more key people etc etc

It doesn’t surprise me. But I just don’t believe it. She’s still there. It’s messy all around.

All everybody is saying on TFS (and everybody in Paris close to the matter) is that she is leaving Dior for JWA to take over.

There are many rumors on where she is going, the reason of her departure and all of this but it’s known for months now that Delphine wanted JWA to come to Dior. If it wasn’t for Bernard Arnault answering the question, the rollout of this whole thing would have been different. The man has been there working for Dior without any formal announcement.

But she is getting what will most likely be a big show in Rome ... that's a great goodbye for her.

A big show in Rome is not a goodbye?
Come on! She is more than well treated here. Only her and Gianfranco Ferre will be part of the designers who had a proper farewell at Dior.
Mr Dior died in between shows, YSL was fired after the 1960 beatnik show, Marc Bohan learned that he was fired in the press, John was fired in between shows, RAF left in between seasons…
