Jonathan Anderson - Designer, Creative Director of JW Anderson & Christian Dior

It all looks and gives day old and even slept in. Just sloppy masking itself as some kinda ironic effortlessness and that includes the men’s show. But look we have an archive story about Mr Dior making this once to cover the stench. I’m still waiting to be surprised to be fair it’s early but we’ve had one show and multiple appearances so far that are not giving successful. Especially when people on here are saying they miss MGC already lol.

Just looking at all these looks and it is clear that red carpet will be a struggle for him. These gowns and tuxedos really are lacklustre whichever way you look at it.

Maria Grazia really was skilled at red carpet looks and in a way Jonathan probably won't be able to compete with that. Which could be a problem since Dior should really be dominating at eveningwear. They have the most skilled artisans in the entire world crafting their gowns, there is really no excuse for bad tailoring or fabrics that crease easily, etc etc.

Anyway, this whole Venice debut of Jonathan's Dior isn't really hitting the way that it should be. This should be a way to whet our appetite for the Spring Summer show, but instead it's left a lot of us scratching our heads and even thinking, "is he the right choice for Dior?" This is not the kind of energy you want to be having before a debut show.

What's more the first look is getting dragged all over social media, which is probably not great PR either.

DIET PRADA

Doesn't do anything for me. Sorry JA.
Now this got me thinking, he was perfectly fine at Loewe.
Maybe Dior has a house carries so much it doesn't fit with his quirky aesthetic, only time will tell.

Laughs in ideservecouture and hautelamode, uh?
Always the first in line when it came to dragging Maria down, analyze and over criticize any breath she took. What can you expect from people still mourning for Galliano drag Queen couture in 2025...just because Galliano was "FASHION", laughable.
I am sure they are deliberately avoiding criticizing the custom looks cause they don't want to be cut off from the PR, wishing to get an invitation for the most anticipated show of next fashion week.

Blue square just gave a very emotionless post. At least green square said something.

I'm dying at "blue square" and "green square" lmao

The silence from Maria Grazia Chiuri's loudest critics/influencers is deafening.
I was a loud critic , I hated her performative feminism, her dull palettes, her repetitive silhouettes, her literal inspirations, her reducing Dior’s feminity to angsty whitewashed models, her total absence of innovation. Her total rip off of that Prada collection.
I welcome JWA cause I’d love to see a new take on Dior, dust it, and I welcome innovations and, if there were mistakes, I would brush them off more easily as long as I get a unique POV on Dior…
So yes I ll criticize JWA mistakes and successes but that would not redeem MGC in my opinion.

It’s laughable how they are editing the photos to make them cleaner. This isn’t oops they got wrinkled in the car moments it’s obvious construction issues on all of them. I did say they love a follow up atelier or Mr Dior story to attempt to make them look better than what they are 🤣🤣🤣 “A testament…”
