Jonathan Anderson - Designer, Creative Director of JW Anderson & Christian Dior

I am very excited to see the universe Jonathan creates at Dior, having appreciated the different past CD's but never having personally relating to what I saw before and felt like a 'Dior woman' both RTW and LG wise. I am excited that it is someone who has a modern proposal, maybe can bridge between that and conservative, great at building an all encompassing universe across different categories.
DA and BA could've went with a very conservative choice, JW has worked so hard for the last 10 years at Loewe to deserve this chance to grow!
{edit} all those collections a year seem a lot for most, but feeling for Jonathan he is good at building teams. At JW for the last 3 years it's mostly Benjamin Bruno running the show already and even doing the FTS for the final launches..

It's good they're willing to give him a few seasons to work out his vision:
Now, with a single artistic director for both womenswear and men’s, the house returns to the organisation it had in the days of Christian Dior, Arnault notes. “I think this is going to be great for the maison. There will be consistency and coherence in the products, but also in terms of communication, I think our message will be much clearer,” she says. “Of course, it’s a big responsibility, there’s a lot of connections that need to be made. For any house, having new artistic direction can be a challenge. It takes a few seasons to see exactly what the vision is. But I think he’s totally energised by the idea.”

Interesting. It's slightly Dior coded now that it's mentiones. I wonder if this was a part of his audition for Dior. I hope he goes closer in this direction.
