Jourdan Dunn is Pregnant!

LMAO:lol: It's not that easy to hide pregnancy in a commercial. More often than not Pregnancy RUINS your skin, my mom still blemishes from 17 years ago. Don't believe that healthy glow crap. This is a beauty contract, as in you need to look beautiful, these types of contracts usually stipulate that you can't alter (read:deteriorate) your appearance too much. Jourdann is gorgeous but when have you ever seen a maybelline commercial with Julia, Adriana, Christy or Erin where they only shoot from the neck up? Also she is the only prolific black model they have signed recently, they may want to start advertising immeaditely, Jourdann isn't going give birth in December and be on a Maybelline set by Boxing day...it could take a year or more, my question is will they wait for her?

Actually, it's very easy to hide a pregnancy in a commercial, but like you said this is for make up and your skin isn't very dependable at such a time. I'm sure they could photoshop the hell of out of her which is what they usually do anyway. The only huge problem that I see is what someone else brought up about her being a pregnant teen.

And I am appalled that people would treat this situation so lightly. It's not about whether she's an adult, whether she's legal, whether she wants to keep it. It's about a young girl having to face a situation like this and make decisions before she's fully mature and ready to do so. She's 18/19! Most people that age are still trying to figure out their own identity!

Of course it may be that Ms. Dunn is in a very stable relationship and planned to get pregnant and have a child, but looking at her career's trajectory, this comes at a very inopportune time and odds are it wasn't planned.

Plus, it's the modeling industry. Shady enough when it comes to young girls as it is.

I'm 21 and I still don't know who the hell I am/want to be.:woot::doh: And agreed this is so shady...

Wow! Congratulations Jourdan! :woot:  It's great to see that she is so happy & I wish her all the best with her pregnancy! :flower:

Jourdan is starting a family and I wish her all the best, some things are more important than the fickle world of fashion.
I agree! I don't think her career in fashion is nearly as important as her happiness & the family that she is just starting. There is nothing more lovely then bringing a new life in to the world.

I am actually surprised that so many people are being so selfish & hard on her, only looking at how this may damage her career & how she is so young. :furious: By the sounds of the interview she is happy, & that is all that truly matters. :)

OK, now I am a little shocked. It just hit me. WOW. I mean, I wish her all the luck, and I know she will continue to prosper in the fashion industry, but WOW, just WOW. It isn't even an issue of age with me. I just can't believe it. She always has this image of innocence, I would have never expected this.

I'm so happy for her! But my only worry is, what's next after this? A model's career in the fashion industry comes and goes. Hope she still makes it big after pregnancy.

i must admit i wished it wasn't Jourdan who was pregnant ...
not that i don't ever want to see her be one , however.
but it is what it is...

Pregnancy doesn't affect everyone the same way. Jessica Alba did make up ads for Revlon while she was pregnant - print and TV. Jourdan is already 5 and a half months along and no one was complaining about her skin in her last shows. (Though, of course, Alba was already famous, had an existing contract and is 9 years older than Dunn.)

there are certain people in this thread that are critizing others opinions... not everyone applauds teenage pregnancy, and those that express their opinion shouldn't be shut down. everyone is raised different and hold certain views.
but i think that we all want Jourdan and her baby to be happy and healthy above all.

If Ale modeled swimsuits while pregnant and looked fantastic. i'm sure jourdan will figure out a way to hide the baby bump for now.

One of the reasons that society looks down on teenage mothers is because there is an assumption that a teenage woman/girl is not in a place financially to care for a baby. But I think we can all agree that Jourdan is certainly better off in that respect then most other teenagers.

Do I know her if her career will survive this? I have no idea. I hope it does, I love her work. But, at the end of the day, a career is just a job that someone really likes. Family is family, for good or ill. Many people switch jobs or careers more than once in their lives but a parent is a parent for the rest of their life. It's permanent.

At this point, the question of whether it was planned or not it moot. She's pregnant. She and her significant other are going to raise a baby. We are, in this thread, fans of her work or of fashion more generally, it is not our business to approve or disapprove of how she runs her life. Her career is something we are concerned about and interested in, as her fans, but being her fans doesn't give us the right to her personal life. We aren't her neighbors or her family or her beffies.

She's having a baby and I will certainly miss her on the runways while she takes time off. Whether I ever see her on another runway or not, I hope she is happy.
