Jourdan Dunn is Pregnant!

I think her age isnt that bad for pregnancy.MY cousin got the baby when she was 15.That was waaaay tooo yoouung but she handle that perfect. So no doubts Jourdan will handle it.Not sure about her 'come back' cuz family is more important then career often :)
GOOD LUCK FOR JOURDAN!

i don't think anyone here is passing judgement, they are just stating their opinions...there's a difference. personally i was pretty surprised about the news but i do think out of many girls her age, she comes off as one of the more mature and sensible (aside from her aparent engagement in unprotected sex) teens...

Birth control fails - nothing besides abstinence is 100% effective. It's pretty unfair to condemn her (for being less mature and less sensible apparently) for unprotected sex when we have NO idea. Condoms break, the pill goes bad with certain antibiotics, etc.

Seriously, some people in here make me want to slam my beautiful mobile towards my laptop screen.

Other than that, I wish Jourdan all the best for her and the baby! Must say, I was shocked at first when I read that she's going to be a mum. But I'm happy for her. Hopefully she'll come back into the modelling business. But I believe she will, and then she might knock out her whole competition. ;)

^ I couldn't agree with you more

and I personally dont think 19 is THAT young I mean my mother had me at 20, yes she had been married for a year, but come on people. She's not 15!

Good luck Jourdan! I hope you have a beautiful, happy, healthy baby <3

Congrats to Jourdan. For me 19 isn't that young to have a baby. At my school you have Freshmen pregnant and it's not even shocking. A test is more shocking than having to hear someone's pregnant. I just hope that Jourdan comes back strong to modeling if she wishes. I'm pretty sure this won't affect her career. She will just take some time off, and

Congrats is defitanely the last thing I'd say to this situation. I think it's the dumbest thing for her to do. Why not wait till your like 26 or blah to get pregnant. I'm shocked that many of you are applauding her when yet she's so young and starting her career to a good start.

well I'm assuming she didn't plan on having a baby so it can't be helped. 19 is very young especially when she has her career to think about but I think working in the fashion industry will have made her way more mature and independent than most other girls her age, plus she is way more financially secure than any other girls her age. I'm assuming this is an unplanned pregnancy and what else can she do only have the child? I think she's dealing with it very maturely

Well maybe we are applauding her because it is a good thing in her life. It is not he dumbest thing for her to do. She knows why she's pregnant.

Finally after so many seasons there was this beautiful black model who ticked all the boxes and fit the aesthetic of every brand from Prada to Chanel, and we kinda looked to her to bring ethnicity to the forefront (which she did) but she still has sooo much further to go before she/Chanel or Sessilee aren't the only token ethnic girl per show. It's disappointing that her journey may be cut short.

Well let's think of the bright side: somebody's gonna have to fill her spots at Chanel and Prada. Chanel Iman anyone?

I can't believe some of the comments on this thread.

Congratulations Jourdan,i wish you all the best for your pregnancy!

I respect her. She had a lot of courage to keep the baby.
Though i don't think her agency was glad. She has a bright career. But her beauty won't change. If she is beautiful before pregnancy (and yeah, Jourdan is), she will be beautiful after it, too...
Just look at Natalia Vodianova... :brows: I do not have to tell more.

Respect. I wish happiness to her & baby and the relatives!
Take care

People are simply to lax about contraception, no method is 100% effective but they are pretty close, when used correctly. If someone take antibiotics while taking the pill for example, don't blame the pill, for the fact that you didn't bother finding another contraceptive method when it's written plainly written in the leaflet that he will probably won't work when you are taking certain meds.
If the condom breaks there is always the next day pill.

In this days and age there is absolutely no excuse for getting pregnant that young. It's not the end of the world, but her behaviour is not something that should be encouraged. That's why some poster felt they needed to mentioned it. Well she's pregnant and 19, not exactly underage, earns good money, and the deed is done so I think everyone wishes her the best of luck, but no it's still not ok to get pregnant that young and i would be very disappointed if my own child would follow the same route.

I don't care if the person has been working for years, has been living independently, has been raising their brothers and sisters since the age of 8, has been supporting themselves, no matter which way you look at it - 18 is young.

Sure, people may say that so-and-so teenage mother was a great mother and they know of 30/40 year olds who make terrible mothers, but the fact remains that 18 is generally NOT an ideal age to have children.

I agree with the theory of this. In general, 18 is young to have a child and start a family, the odds of success are most probably steeper. But we aren't talking in theories or generalities but about a specific young woman. Jourdan is more than a statistic, at least in this forum.

I neither applaud nor condemn her for this decision. I merely acknowledge its reality and wish her the best.

depending on the maturity age should not be the issue.
my mum was married with 2 kids by 19 and still happy years on.. all depends on the person :)

:rolleyes:some of you guys act like you know her and live with her. i think it's easier to pass judgement when you're not in that situation. she's not perfect. whether it was a planned or unplanned pregnancy, it doesn't matter - she's pregnant. she's healthy, happy and blessed. there are so many women out there who are trying to have a baby but aren't able to. so the fact that she's having a baby, keeping it and is happy about it...there's nothing else that matters. she's not your child like sessilee lopez said. she's not here to please anyone.

lol, haha even sessilee lopez jumped in here to defend her..lol

for jourdan sake i wish she doesn't read this thread. some of the things people are saying is very disturbing. this is 2009 having babies out of wedlock is not a crime. because if it was alot of our parents will be in punishment right now. at the end of the day her child is more important than modeling.
