Junya Watanabe F/W 2020.21 Paris

Haven't been into his work since maybe 2016, it seemed a little too.. raw, but also.. commercial?, this is still along the same lines but much more refined and it's such a pleasant surprise. There are so many leather dresses this season but I think we have a winner.. his look so soft and yummy, like melted candy/licorice.

This is pleather...He has used a lot of pleather in his collections lately.

^ no no, that just ignites this internal debate I never want to have: "feel better that it's pleather.. but also: stay away from pleather".

LOVE! Junya back in form. All the leather pieces are great.

One of his best collections in ages (probably since F/W 2015 for me). It's so odd to think that Debbie Harry could be an influence for Junya, and yet it all makes sense given his affinity for leather.

Many fantastic pieces (particularly in that tone of red) and the details make the quality of the garments that much more desirable.
