Karl has a kitty cat!! :meow:

Looks like Karl Lagerfeld could have a new muse! The designer shared this photo of his new cat with V Magazine’s Stephen Gan, who tweeted it, adding “Hello Kitties @LadyGaga @formichetti! Karl’s Lagerfeld‘s sunday night photo: meet Choupette, his new kitten. -SG.” Aw. Don’t you just want to snuggle her?
Cross your fingers that this means we can expect some cat-themed clothing to walk the runway at Chanel!

Japanese fans of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel should get very excited right about now, as WWD has just announced that Uncle Karl is planning three fab events in Tokyo between March 21st and 23rd!
While in Tokyo, Karl and the Chanel gang will be reprising the fabulous autumn/winter couture show, opening a pop up shop that will feature spring/summer clothes and accessories, and launching a seven-week-long exhibition all about the classic Chanel tweedjacket.
Apparently the exhibition will feature around 100 images from The Little Black Jacket, a book by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld that consists of pictures of the hottest and most stylish celebs (well, they’d have to be if they feature in a Chanel book!) strutting their stuff in Chanel’s most iconic piece.
Exciting stuff, no?

Couture Business Booming as Chanel Promises Most Extravagant Show Ever

It would be easy to dismiss the Couture shows – where, lest we forget, prices of the outfits shown start at £20,000 – as irrelevant in this current climate. But think again! New reports suggest that the market is booming at Couture houses thanks to a new wave of younger customers and those from ‘new-wealth’ countries.

Armani Prive (the brand’s Couture arm) has said sales rose 50% in 2011 versus the previous year and Valentino reported an 80% bump in Couture sales, bringing the business back to levels before the global financial crisis began. ‘It appears that Couture customers are better equipped to face economic uncertainly compared with others,’ said Armani’s Fanio Mancone.

No surprise then that early reports circulating about this week’s Couture shows suggest they’re set to be more extravagant than ever. The fashion pack are in a flurry because seating at the Chanel show tomorrow has been seriously restricted thanks to an elaborate set that’s set to rival any of Karl Lagerfeld’s other creations. (And remember that iceberg.)

Karl Lagerfeld's Kitten is a Natural Snob

Last Monday,we met Karl Lagerfeld's fantastically cute new kitten, Choupette; today, the high fashion furball got its very first write-up in WWD, cementing the miniature feline's status as an industry power player.
It seems very next-level-of-hell to gossip about the Chanel designer's cat, but I'd gossip about my own cat, too, if anyone cared.
Choupette was presented to his owner as a Christmas present (from a MYSTERIOUS LOVER, perchance?) and it was pretty much love at first sight. All his life, the be-sunglassed, white haired aesthete yearned to meet his match in terms of affectation and waried disdain for the human world.
And by all accounts, he has. His mouse-hunting buddy a) hates TV b) shares the Kaiser's fiendish obsession with paper and books c) has an unconventional diet. The designer might get through the day by chugging bottles and bottles of his beloved Diet Coke, but his furry little friend prefers a different kind of no-calore treat: Choupette's got a paper-chewing habit. Eating paper is like the epitome of an interesting distinguishing quirk. This kitten is going to be the toast of the town, an insta-hit at cocktail parties. Some creatures truly have it all.

Seriously the kitten story is just hilarious, love it! Even his cat is a natural snob, hope he makes an appearanc in the next campaign.

Karl VS Karl

In terms of diffusion lines, Karl Lagerfeld’s new collection, launching on Net-a-Porter, is shrouded with a particular amount of buzz that comes with the Lagerfeld name. Here, in this Style.com exclusive [video], the Kaiser interviews himself about the concepts of the line. “If I see you I think we are quite fresh and relevant. What’s your opinion?” he asks himself. “A question I never ask myself,” he answers. The full video debuts on Net-a-Porter this afternoon.
