Karl Lagerfeld thinks uninspiring shows have no place in Paris

Karl Lagerfeld thinks only "impressive" shows should be staged at Paris Fashion Week.

The legendary designer - who showed his eponymous label's Spring/Summer 10 collection at the event as well as that of Chanel, where he is creative director - claims uninspiring shows have no place at the French capital's event.

In an interview with singer Katy Perry for elle.com, Karl said: "I think there are great people and collections here, like Lanvin. For me, it's important that there are a lot of impressive collections at Paris because otherwise it's not worth coming. There has to be exciting people and exciting shows here or else it all falls flat."

Katy was keen to find out what inspired Karl, and whether there was any designer he would like to work with.

Karl replied: "In my life I have never thought for a second about trading positions with another designer. I got used to myself. I can be impressed by what others do or have done but I never wanted to be somebody else."

Katy was thrilled to be asked to interview Karl, and took to her Twitter page after the event to discuss it.

She wrote: "just interviewed Karl lagerfeld... he was so lovely. I think I'm be him for Halloween. Collar, boots, gloves and all.

This is seriously the best video Chanel has put out in quite a while. (Well, since the Paris-Venise previews, at least. Not a Karl video, but life through Nastya Karzan's eyes/hair.

Karl and Baptiste Are Going to Argentina Together!

Karl Lagerfeld is about to travel to South America for the first time in his life. He's shooting the next Chanel campaign in Buenos Aires with Claudia Schiffer and two of the models who acted out a threesome in the hay at his latest Chanel fashion show, Freha Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi (not that he goes anywhere without Baptiste anyway). Karl claims he is "not a tourist" and only goes places if he has "a professional reason." But we'd like to think he and Baptiste can at least enjoy a horseback ride on the beach together while flying the Argentine flag. Or maybe enjoy a nice brunch of steak and quail eggs while taking in some tango.

Bellechloe, i don't know the exact locations, but i know they're in san telmo today and in the following days they'll be around town, in caminito, etc., and perhaps a little trip to el campo (the countryside)...oh, how i'd love to see karl and freja (whom i have yet to confirm is here in buenos aires) in the flesh, live and direct! and i am so intrigued to see the final result in the chanel campaign at year's end
