I also found this funny passage from an interview with Karl from the Stern magazine (october 1996)

In France, a book with mean allegation about me was published. My chauffeur drove me to Parisian bookshops where I bought every single copy of it. I threw them in the garbage bin in front of the store and said "If you reorder this dirt, I will never buy here again!

I wonder which book he's talking about...and if the same thing happened to "The Beautiful Fall" ten years later
