Ive been so dissapointed in Kate over the past years. She hasn't made a good movie since Almost Famous. Every movie she has made she's essentially playing the same character. I liked NINE but her role was pointless. So, because of this, i'm less inclined to pay any attention to her on the red carpet. I like that yellow Versace dress, but she's been looking pretty shocking on the red carpet lately.

^^I agree about her movie choices just awful, and its not like she needs the paycheck her parents ale loaded and I really think she is talented. I guess she's lazy.

However I can't see her changing her modus operandi any time soon, as long as people keep offering her $12 mil per movie (for 2-3 months work) I'd say she will keep accepting those types of role, no matter how little they challenge her.

It's a shame because money comes and goes, and you're right her parents own half of California (Matt Bellamy is also wealthy beyond his wildest dreams ) so she would not need the money, but her filmic legacy will last forever... If I were her I'd start lobbying for some more meaty dramatic roles... even if it means losing her vanity!

However, she probably likes the roles that mean she gets to wear the fab clothes and get hair and makeup and tan done everyday and look beautiful etc.

Pregnant Kate always looks so much better for me that non-pregnant Kate, I'm not sure why! Honestly, I'm surprised no one has started re-making her mum's films and casting her in them, it wouldn't a good thing but I'm shocked it hasn't happened! Almost Famous is one of my fav movies and I agree, as good as she was in Nine, she hasn't done anything since that even comes close, although I do sort of like Le Divorce!

I really liked Le Divorce to be honest. But I agree, her movie choices make no sense ! She has a spark to her, I enjoy watching her, I just wish she would be more selective, because as much as she shines and sparkles, she can't help a bad movie.

I totally second that! She should choose more challenging parts instead of repeating the same kind of stereotyped role.

Interesting last point, I hadn't looked at it that way before, but I think you're right and I completely agree.

She has been in line for a few more serious projects over the years, but none of them seem to actually happen. I guess it's easier for producers to invest in tried and trusted romantic comedies rather than something a bit riskier.

Also agree with whoever said she looks better when pregnant - I don't know why, but she just does!
