Kate Moss flies into rage after Pete calls her a 'nasty old rag'

Kate Moss flew into a wild rage yesterday when she learned that her on/off junkie boyfriend Pete Doherty had branded her a 'nasty old rag' in an interview.
The model had a screaming fit, smashed pictures and threw a wine glass at a wall when she heard that the singer had made a desperate rambling, and very public plea to get the supermodel her back in his life. In it, the singer described Miss Moss in one breath as a "nasty old rag" who would jealously lash out at him and once "kicked him in the head".
Kate was outraged that Pete spoke to a newspaper about their private life
In the next breath he passionately declared: "I love her with all my heart. I like the way she walks and talks.
"I love her bones. I love her brain. Take me back. Kate if you love me then realise I don't want any other girl. I'm here to tell her that I love her."
And in a move which can hardly have been designed to woo back the love of his life, Doherty went on to reveal how he met someone new the day Kate dumped him - a Parisian model called Christine - who has apparently accepted his proposal of marriage.
In the interview, Doherty also claimed that days after their split earlier this month, Miss Moss had left a drunken message on his phone in which she sang the sentimental classic Moon River.
A close friend of Miss Moss told the Mail yesterday that she reacted furiously to the report.
"Kate lost all control - flew into a rage. Pete had given Kate lyrics for a song written in blood when they were together. She had it framed.
"Yesterday she smashed the picture, ripped the lyrics up and threw them in the bin. She was so upset that he mentioned something so personal as singing Moon River on an phone message.
"She is disgusted at his claims that she read the tabloid concerned - the very one which turned her over so publicly for cocaine. "She is furious that it all makes her look so pathetic when she is the one that has cleaned herself up and dumped him. He has been sending her notes and presents via various people but she has never opened them because she recognises the writing.
"Kate's rage has now subsided into tears and she is slightly panicking that he is going to do something more aggressive in his pathetic attempt to get her back."
The friend went on: "She is worried he could be persuaded to do the full kiss and tell. There is a lot more he could say. Kate thinks he got paid a massive amount of money to say what he did - she thinks £150,000. But that sounds too much.
"Kate is now being advised to buy his silence before it all gets even more out of hand. She is so angry saying 'How dare he?' She has been ranting, screaming down the phone to family and friends that him talking about their relationship is the one thing he promised he would never do.
"She is going mad with anger - there no other way to describe it. He kept diaries and took pictures of them both.
"There is a lot that could potentially come out. Her aides - like her manager Sarah Dukas - have taken a sharp intake of breath, thinking the whole thing they have built up could come tumbling down."
In the interview, Doherty, 28, claimed Miss Moss dumped him earlier this month because of her insane jealousy over a report that he had been unfaithful to her.
Since then, he says, he has been unable to get in touch with her. Recent pictures showed the locks on her home in St John's Wood, north London have been changed and all of his belongings had been moved out.
Doherty said Miss Moss, 33, flew into a jealous rage accusing him of cheating on her with a groupie.
He told the Daily Mirror: "Kate - a nasty old rag. We fell out for the same old reason. She accused me of f****** this girl who lives around the corner.
"We were watching a DVD together and Kate started going 'I could tell by the way you were sitting back there that you've f****d her'. I said 'You're out of your f****** mind'. I was really up for some peace and love that morning. I wasn't up for being called a c*** and being kicked in the head.
"(Kate) has got an awful temper. I grabbed a guitar and books and said 'I'm never going to be treated this way again'."
Doherty stopped short of denying his infidelity, adding he was driven to distraction by her "continual flirting" with other men.
In another of many unpredictable twists and turns in the confusing interview, Doherty said: "I love (Kate) with all my heart. I wasn't going to go after a poxy model, let alone some girl I've known as a friend for years.
"Kate is both jealous and suspicious, the same as every woman. But being accused all the time of going with other women takes its toll. She can sit on our music producer's knee in the rehearsal room to wind me up. But as soon as I talk to anyone, it's an affair."
Talking of the chance of them getting back together, the day he came out of rehab, Doherty said: "Kate is so stubborn. She'll probably sit this one out. Rather than listen to reason and say 'No, actually you didn't sleep with that girl, that's ridiculous', she decides to have a big old row.
"When she finished it in a blazing row I decided never ever ever am I going to go through that again. I promised myself so many times about it. But I always go back. It's abusive isn't it? Maybe I'm destined to end up in an abusive relationship, but I don't want to." But Doherty does hope for a reunion with Miss Moss - if he successfully straightens himself out.
