Kenzo F/W 07.08: Olga Sherer and ? by Yelena Yemchuck

Does anyone know who is the photographer ? I saw the men's ad from Kenzo it's so different from women one , it's so graphical landscape but also nice

The men line ads are usually much better! Kenzo has lost all of the connection with their original source - "Nature"! Everything feels so digital and akward in the latest two ad seasons. I believe it comes with the photographers, they're totally wrong for Kenzo!

There's a good campaign in there trying to make itself seen. The 'multi-image' idea is dire - it adds nothing to the story of the clothes, and it isn't executed cleverly enough to be impressive on its own as a technique, especially on the double-page spread ads. At best, I'm getting the idea that the campaign is meant to look like television stills of the girls messing around on axminster carpet, the pictures all piled upon the same page.

The whole idea reminds of an eyesight test, where you start off reading the big letters which gradually reduce down to the ones you can't see. I don't want an ad that makes me need glasses.

another model is looking like Kasia Piciak...but i highly doubt its her
and photos are by Yelena Yemchuck as always and Inez and Vinoodh never did Kenzo

mikel thanks for the clarification, I remember people talking about ads with Bruna being shot by Inez and Vindooh. I quite like Yelena Yemchuck's photography style otherwise. In this case this disappoints big time. The whole collage, messy things is way too clinical for my taste, just like Inez and Vindooh's work. The line went from the organic/fresh to cloudy and boring. It's pretty hard focusing on the close when you have a pussle to solve by millions of pictures or layer on layer of photoshop effects.

Someone should ad the photographer to the name of the thread!

^done. :flower:
thanks for the info, ASF!.

I think I like the ads, I've always admired Yelena's work and even though this does seem a bit too digital for her usual standards.. or at least my expectations on her work, I'm surprised that it's far from being detached or just freezing cold as it often happens with say, Inez and Vinoodh's work. it reminds me a bit of Sarah Moon's work, actually. I love how it still feels very saturated with colour, energy, intricate details.. and music :ninja:.. which is the impression I get every time I see Antonio Marras & co on full mode..

I'm a fan of Yelena's work as well, and I can't really pinpoint why, but I don't like this at all. It's just messy and lacking her usual touch. Disappointing.

Good, but not great. I love the colors, but that's mostly thanks to the clothes, and the Argentinian theme, but again, how could you do anything else with this collection?

No id for that other model yet? Where are iperlchen, Nelly Cat, jules... all the super ID:ers? :p

I don't like this too much. SS06 was great, FW06 good, but Yemchuk's last two campaigns have been disappointing. Time for a change of photographers, perhaps.

no Kenzo s/s 2007 was also shot by Yelena
even if art direction reminds You of cooperation of M/M and Inez and Vinoodh
you could check it in Yelena portfolio on streeters.com

^^Yah strangely enough no ID still on that girl. I've been searching for girls that look similar but there's no hope in confirmation until those images appear in a portfolio or press release linking the two.

My best guess at this point would be Anaeva at IMG Development...the nose is right, the large ears fit, the lips are about the same shape...hard part is determining whether the eyes match since Anaeva has a few pictures where she's bug eyed, and a few were her eyes have a much more potent Asian element to them? Hell if I know, I'm just throwing names out there in hopes of other people being able to work off of a starting point!

I'm a big fan of Yelena's work but it does seem very cluttered. I do think that the concept is very interesting and there's something about the ads that feel very alive IMO.

I'm interested in seeing more.

i love it, i love Kenzo. their ads are always so interesting and unique.
