KERRY WASHINGTON in Lanvin

Washington's downtown-chic look was perfect for a Vanity Fair-hosted party during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The actress wore a gray Lanvin smock dress with strappy sandals from Sergio Rossi and a Rodo clutch.

I would love to see her candid everyday look to get a feel for her style. She looks polished on the red carpet but it's probably with the help of a stylist, which is fine, but I want to see what she's really into...

MY GOD KERRY, she is the most photographed Black actress in my opinion, the woman is everywhere. The glow has returned; love her at the 2nd Annual Chanel Dinnner Celebrating Artist Program of Tribeca Film Festival, such a simple look, very clean, and well executed by Kerry; is the outfit Chanel, i would not be suprised.

What can I say that would completely define how beautiful she looked at the Opening of Tribeca Film Festival SOS Short Film Program, there are none. Again she looks very elegant, but that is usual Kerry, love the Versace shoes, purse is blah.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington found it easy being green at the Tribeca SOS opening night gala. Josh Lucas, Petra Nemcova and Julia Stiles were among the other environmentally-friendly stars who helped kick off the downtown movie-palooza while looking forward to the upcoming SOS (Save Our Selves) Live Earth summer concert. While Washington is a juror at this year's festival, she won't spend much time in front of big screens. "I'm judging the screenwriting competition, so I'm not watching movies, I'm reading scripts," she explained.

She looks beautiful, but that dress, it is so boring.

How exactly do weaves work??

LOL, they are attachments to one's natural hair. There are different techniques, but Kerry looks like she was exposed to the traditional sew in technique. What happens is, the hair stylist parts the hair, sews the hair "tracks" (the extensions) into the woman's natural hair, and there you go. Im no authority on this subject, being I am a male, but i think im pretty correct. Someone else could tell you better though.

Yes, very expensive weave.

How can you tell? Is there a trick for spotting it? The way the hair is parted, maybe?

I have long hair (I'm black) and strangers sometimes incorrectly assume that my hair is fake.

Look at the front of Kerry's hair at the Tribeca SOS, do you see how relaxed it is, yet frizzy, almost as if she is in need of a new treatment? Now look at the ends of her hair, the weave is nice and straight, Kerry's hair contrasts starkly with the weave. Plus, she always wears the same style, parted down the middle, either regular long tresses or curled long tresses, not much versatility with a sewed in weave. Even at the Sixth Annual Tribeca Film Festival, you can see how thick the weave is in contrast to her semi-thin hair. I cant go any further, I just know a weave when I see one.:flower:
