Well my family is trini and they run the gamut between very dark skinned non-mixed to asian/indian mixtures with black. Some of them look middle eastern and latin. There is no typical "trinidadian" look. The population however is split pretty much 50/50 between African and Indian so many people look like a mix of the two.

My family is from Trinidad also and I understand what you mean. People from the islands lots of time have a certain 'look'. All my life people ask me where I am from even though I was born in the states. And I'm not 'mixed' with anything. Because of the huge East Indian population in Trinidad lots of men and women have an exotic look though.
