Nicole, the chiffon and the lace bride

A flowing column of delicate chiffon and lace, this is the ultra-feminine full-length wedding dress chosen by Nicole Kidman for her marriage to Keith Urban on Sunday. The stunning couture dress, made by Balenciaga, was ordered late last year when Urban proposed, and has been custom made to her specifications.

Supposedly this is her dress....? If it is, it's gorgeous

God, if that really is her dress i will be so disappointed. :(
I was under the impression Nicholas actually was making her a dress for her.....

Here is another article in case your interested:

Sydney fashionistas yesterday tipped Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquiere as the Australian actress's choice for her wedding gown designer.
Hailed "the hottest designer in the world today", the Paris-based 28-year-old dressed Kidman in white for this year's Oscars - now seen as a "dress rehearsal" for her big day on June 25.
"This could be the making of Ghesquiere," Sydney boutique owner Belinda Seper said yesterday.
Harpers Bazaar editor Alison Veness McGourty said Kidman's ability to pick a rising fashion star made Ghesquiere a clever choice.
"She has a great sense of timing, of capturing the zeitgeist of the moment. And Nicolas is red-hot right now."

I love it, I think it's very sexy and mature without being over-the-top...it's very Nicole.

I'm sick of those huge princess-type gowns anyway

I think Nicole can afford to have a custom made dress for her. That dress looks like a nightgown

She still seems very down to earth ^_^

She does. I really love her and respect her. She never slanders Tom Cruise in the press (except for some cute comments about his height) and always keeps pretty mum on the subject. She looks so much happier with Keith than with this freak of nature:

the rest of that article...

Miss Kidman's hen night on Wednesday consisted of a girly night in at her sister Antonia's nondescript suburban house with a group of girlfriends where they ate a Chinese takeaway.
Music at the 35 minute ceremony will be kept simple with a string quartet, albeit from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, while the religious readings have been organised by Miss Kidman's mother Janelle.

Guests have even been told not to hand the couple any lavish presents - saying they would prefer that money should be donated to charity.

And the day after the wedding Miss Kidman's family will host a traditional Australian barbie for the couple's closest friends.

But with a guest list which includes Miss Kidman's actor friends King Kong star Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Renee Zellweger and her ex-husband Kenny Chesney, who is a friend of Urban, as well as media mogul Rupert Murdoch, it was never going to be an entirely simple affair.
The flower bill for hundreds of white orchids is set to top £50,000 while the cake, from the Sweet Art cake shop will cost £1,500.

The food will be prepared by celebrated Australian chef Luke Mangan, a pal of Jamie Oliver's.
Mangan, a TV chef and local celebrity, is favours Antipodean delicacies like seared scallops and fish like barramundi. He has plenty of experience of big events - he recently provided the wedding banquet in Denmark when former Sydney estate agent Mary Donaldson married Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

Miss Kidman had several fittings for her dress which she started trying to find just a few weeks after Urban's Thanksgiving day proposal, she consulted with the label's designer Nicholas Ghesquiere on finding the dress of her dreams.

They agreed that he would adapt the bias-cut, intricately stitched column dress, which is part of the spring summer 2006 collection. Nicole's wedding dress was completed in conditions of great secrecy in May and shipped out to Nicole in Nashville, where she has set up home with Urban. She is apparently 'swept away' by its delicate beauty, and the empire line flatters her tall dancer's figure. He has also designed the dress for her sister Antonia, who will be the maid of honour.

Miss Kidman's two adopted children from her marriage to Cruise will also play a part in the wedding. Isabella, 13, will be a bridesmaid while her son Connor, 11, will be one of Urban's ushers.

The two arrived in Sydney on Wednesday chaperoned by Cruise's sister Cass on a private jet from Tokyo where the actor has been working.

The new Mrs Urban and her husband will honeymoon at the exclusive Wakaya resort in Fiji. They have booked out the entire resort, which was also the place where Rolling Stones star Keith Richards fell out of a coconut tree causing brain damage, for a week at a cost of £80,000.

Meanwhile the Catholic priest who will perform the marriage ceremony is convinced Kidman may have found true love.

Jesuit Father Paul Coleman, who met the couple this week to discuss their marriage expected on Sunday, said he had a "good feeling about their chances".

Coleman said Kidman, 39, and Urban, 38, had a "mature love".

"You've got to rely on their maturity and knowledge of each other and I'm impressed," the priest told Australian newspapers today.

Coleman said he would lecture the couple on the secret of keeping love alive.

"Make time for each other, do romantic things together and never part without kissing," he said.

her version will be in cream and feature a slip, according to the article...

^ A slip would be a nice touch

I had no idea Jesuits were the keepers of all romantic secrets ...

And the part about Keith Richards and the coconut tree

With Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban reportedly just days away from pledging to love one another for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, through bad dye jobs and preternaturally smooth foreheads, until death do them part, the nuptial nattering has reached a fever pitch. Here's a rundown of the latest rumblings from Down Under ...
According to Australia's Daily Telegraph, the traditional Catholic ceremony is tipped to take place Sunday afternoon at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel, an expansive Gothic church with ocean views in the swanky Sydney suburb of Manly.
The bride, 39, and groom, 38, are keeping their vow-swap comparatively short. The paper reports the "beautiful and uplifting" ceremony will last about 40 minutes, and will include music and readings selected by Kidman's mom, Janelle.
Nicole's dad, Antony, is expected to walk her down the aisle to the strains of a string quartet from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Her sister, Antonia, is reportedly serving as her matron of honor, with Urban's brother, Shane, charged with best-man duties.
Balenciaga, who designed Kidman's ethereal Oscar dress, is believed to have won the honor of outfitting her on the big day, although Chanel, which has paid her millions to shill for its brand, could still be in the running. An insider tattles to the Sydney Morning Herald that the wedding gown is white and has a "Victorian-like high collar." No word on what Keith will wear or whether he'll have his trademark golden-streaked tresses touched up before heading to the altar.
The Oscar winner celebrated one of her final nights of singlehood in a way that would have made Martha Stewart proud. The Telegraph says guests at her understated bachelorette bash Wednesday night were asked to bring their favorite recipes. Seems Kidman is hoping to collect them into a book to give to her pals. Urban's bachelor party is reportedly scheduled for Thursday night.
Kidman's kids, Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, arrived in town Thursday on a private jet, reportedly accompanied by one of Tom Cruise's sisters. It remains unclear whether they winged in from Tokyo, where their promotion-minded pop had been stumping for "Mission: Impossible III," or from Los Angeles. They're both expected to participate in the wedding.
Not long after Isabella and Connor arrived at their mom's mansion by Sydney Harbor, they accompanied her on a two-hour visit to Sydney Children's Hospital, a trip Kidman reportedly makes whenever she's in her hometown. Hospital exec Elizabeth Crundall says she was shocked by the pop-by, gushing to the AP, "To actually take the time out from her own wedding for a couple of hours was stunning, extraordinary and wonderful." The loaded lovebirds have reportedly asked guests to forgo the standard gravy boat-style wedding gifts in favor of donating to their favorite charities, including the hospital.
The crispy-coiffed country crooner is expected to perform a few romantic ditties at the reception.
Guests have been streaming into Sydney all week, including Nicole's longtime pal (and rumored bridesmaid) Naomi Watts. Other big names who have apparently scored a coveted invite: Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann, Rupert Murdoch, Renée Zellweger and her country-singing ex, Kenny Chesney.
Father Paul Coleman, the oh-so-chatty priest officiating the ceremony (he and the Kidman clan go back 30 years), tells the Morning Herald that it's not "a problem at all" that Urban isn't Catholic. "I call Keith -- I'll use the words he's an 'anonymous Christian' -- he's got the spirit of God in him and that's that," explains the padre, who adds that he's planning to read a homily urging the couple to "find time" for each other. Coleman also denies recent reports that Kidman had her decade-long union to Scientology-devoted Cruise annulled, explaining that it was never recognized by the Catholic Church.
Was a prenup part of the Down Under duo's pre-wedding preparations? The London Daily Mail claims they've signed an agreement that gives Urban $640,000 for every year he's with Kidman. "Nicole did not want to force Keith to sign anything as she is convinced that they really will last but her advisers were quite strict on the issue," an insider tells the paper. "The good news for Nicole was that Keith agreed immediately ... Like her, he can't see them breaking up but he can understand why her earnings have to be protected."
Kidman's usually close-mouthed rep is adamantly shooting down bun-in-the-oven reports, insisting to the New York Daily News, "She's not pregnant ... Believe me on this one: She is religious, and that would never do."
As for the honeymoon, the newlyweds are said to be planning a trip to the exclusive Wakaya Club resort in Fiji (a top-of-the-line villa goes for about $7,600 a night). After that, expect them to settle in Nashville, Urban's homebase. "I have moved to Tennessee for my personal life," Nicole told reporters during a promotional pitstop in Shanghai last weekend, "so I am sort of establishing my new home, which is nice."

That's not slander because it's true!!!

I think the dress is gorgeous. It's so Nicole ... and would complement her pale skin so beautifully. It's not over the top or over frilly which I :yuk:. She would look like a goddess in it.

Oh...the article says she DOES intend to wear a slip ... ^_^ And it does sound like a modest yet classy affair.

THE DRESS!!!!

ninemsn.com.au

Nicole Kidman has arrived at the Sydney Catholic church where she will marry Australian country music star Keith Urban this evening.
Kidman, 39, and Urban, 38, will marry at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel, on St Patrick's Estate at Manly.
The glowing bride was dressed in an ivory gown, designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga, and carried a simple posy of white roses.
Kidman, 39, accompanied by her proud father Antony, arrived at Manly's St Patrick's Estate in the back of a cream Rolls Royce at 5.20pm (AEST).
Kidman waved to the crowd as her limousine made its way along Darley Street towards the entrance to the estate.
She had the window down and was smiling as a fans and media rushed to greet her. An estimated 1,000 people were waiting.
Her bridal party - 13-year-old daughter Isabella, sister Antonia and niece Lucia - travelled in a separate Rolls Royce,
Kidman's mother Janelle and Urban's family and friends arrived earlier at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in the St Patrick's estate.
Superstar guest Hugh Jackman, with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, was the first to arrive. He is expected to sing the Peter Allen classic, Tenterfield Saddler, during the ceremony, Ten news reported.
Other guests arrived before the ceremony in several luxury cars with tinted windows.
About 1,000 media and fans waited outside the entrance of the massive seaside estate by mid-afternoon.
But several police and private security guards ensured the fans and a massive media contingent were kept well away from the actual chapel

Some really nice photos from the wedding at http://www.musebay.com (they're on the site and constantly update, im quite lazy to provide the link tehehe)

She is so classy. Nicole will always exude class, beauty and wit. Heard she has an IQ of 140, which is impressive since the average is 100.
