Well, i think that all this going-to-rehab-thing might have something to do with Heath's death and the realisation that things don't always go HIGH when you abuse. Maybe a reality check-in?
anyway, it's nice to know she realised she has a problem and decided to solve it. privately.

I hadn't even thought of it like that. In that case it's a positive thing to do before it escalates into a serious problem which could result in a tragic end.

Heath's death really hit home close to Kirsten, because of their close relationship, so this is more of a getting her life and health back on track step, not just her 'doing rehab'

I agree with everyone who's saying that she might have checked herself in because of Heath. It must have been a huge shock to many people in the business, especially those who were close to him. I remember when River Phoenix died it caused great commotion and lots of questioning as to why someone so young would dabble with such dangerous substances. It probably was as big a wake up call then as Heath's death is now for the young stars in Hollywood.

i didn't mean it in a sense that his friends decided to go, i meant in general- to see that you're not invincible if you're 20something and popular for your talent.

^ Yeah, they were close. There are quite a few pictures of Kiki and Heath hanging out, plus they were supposed to have dated before either of them were very famous. Also, Kirsten went out with Jake G although I don't think Heath knew Jake at that point but I dunno.

I agree with LetThemEatCake. I think it's definitely a possibility. Still, we can only speculate as to the reasons. The reasons aren't the main issue though. Maybe what happened to Heath made Kirsten realize she did have a problem or something. Who knows? I don't think it's really that important anyway.

Anyway there have been rumors about her for years but like Heath she was way under the radar. I think to the general public this is probably a shock...because most people still remember her from her roles as a young girl like Lindsay Lohan.

And Kirsten isn't a shock either, although I half hoped most of the rumors where false. Still, going to rehab doesn't make you the anti-christ exactly, does it?!

I think Kirsten has always been a user, I get the sense she has been doing for years, esp after Jake G she kind of her changed her scene. And I think Heath was just a wake up call, especially when a friend of yours dies, your perspective in life changes....

I'm not disputing there weren't people that were closer to him than her. That's obvious. We're discussing why she would be in rehab, and I know for fact that she is very upset over Heath and his death and this, as lemeray just posted, was a "wake up call" for her to get some help. Sorry dear, I dont know why you doubt they were close, but they very much were. No reason to argue it.

Oh, I know that's what you meant sweetie ! I wasn't trying to argue with you, just saying I wasn't half as shocked by Lindsey as I was by Kirsten, although I wasn't very shocked by Kiki exactly.
