Knee/Thigh High Socks

I swear you girls have all the fun sometimes! I think the slouchy knee high sock trend is adorable. Yet, at the same time its totally elegant for some unbeknownst reason. I will say this though, the Prada ones are without a doubt my favorite. I love the way the neutrals played off the outfits, whereas I think the Gautier ones are a little too bright. A little too much like the BRIGHT tights from a couple years ago.

I can't wait for you guys to post pictures. If I can find a way to make this trend go towards the male spectrum I'll let you know

Well, Berube did it as well.

Imo, they are not near as successfully as the Prada ones.

over the past months i've updated my sock drawer to hold nothing but knee socks, and i've been slouching them for the past little while too - looks like i'm finally part of a trend  i LOVE this look - the prada is among my favorites. i'm totally going to try the sheared off pantyhose thing though, that's a really good idea.

rebecca turbow, who's been mentioned quite a bit in the indie designers mega thread, has a pair of knee socks that she's stitched to add some texture to the top...check it out

you can get different colored stitching as well - white with grey, black, brown, turquoise..etc. i've ordered a pair and i hope to get them soon!

thanks for the trend thread, kimkhuu - i can always count on you for shrewd trendspotting

ps: rockstar, if men can wear capris, they can probably wear kneesocks too

Yay - another trend that won't look so great on curvier girls.
I have very muscular/sporty legs from years of swimming and volleyball - this trend is not for me, but I sure love the way it looks, especially love the Prada pics!!!!

nonsense, hero - i think it would work best for you if you wore solid, dark colors and stayed away from bright patterns. try it and see!

and besides, i'm really short - kneesocks usually go OVER my knees

^ I actually prefer the first pair you posted, the one from Rebecca Turbow!

i like the rebecca turbow ones as well, kimkhuu. and as soon as i have them in front of me i'll figure out how to do it myself

i like the way the marras ones are open at the bottom. so you are wearing loose knee socks/stockings but you can still wear sandals.

the Maras look is too cute..
i only wear kneeshocks in black, shades of dark grey and navy
sad i know but wouldn't dare stripes or colour

oh lena - if you can work up the nerve, they'd be so cute with solid clothing - like a muted color striped kneesock, with black or some other dark neutral dress or skirt - could be so cute! try it out, i know you can come up with something amazing  but i understand the hesitation...i only recently got comfortable wearing skirts, let alone anything that would "show off" my legs

my favorite pairs of kneesocks are these black ones that are sort of crocheted...they are a bit lacy. also, a maroon and a brown pair of cable knit socks that have multicolored bits in them - they remind me of the 70s  they're really, really soft - it's hard not to want to wear them every day.

How can I wear knee high socks with a skirt without looking like a Japanese schoolgirl?

I love this look

Exactly. I think it looks amazing in all the pictures posted, but I need to see it in 'real life'. I hope I dont look super silly when I try to wear this...

Oooh I just remembered I have blue sheer ones ! and around 10 pairs of stripy ones. And more..I bought them at cheap estonian store last autumn and I think I'll wear them this spring much.. just have to get some springy shoes.
Bit OT but all my spring or summer shoes are too small  and you cant find cheap and nice ballet flats when you're size is 42-42 (11-12) :( I'm forced to buy converses , hehe.

loving it! I like the way they were able to make this look something different than a cutesy schoolgirl thing (although I do like that look as well). I'm not completely digging the over the knee ones because typically the fat on my thighs just bulges out over the top, not a very flattering thing.
