Knee/Thigh High Socks

Yay Susie!! :heart::woot:

I am getting the same one's as you, i diden't want the ribbed one's these are much nice imo.

Can't wait to get mine, they should come tomorrow! I am going to wear them this weekend.:bounce:

I really love the grey colour.. are they quite sheer? I lovelovelove them.

Susie, those are beautiful..... I love them.... thanks for posting pics....

My best friend wants a pair. Can you order them online? or can you buy them like in Saks?

Susie, they are beautiful. and you look great in them,
Thanks for sharing. . .

Thanks for everyone's comments! They aren't the easiest things to work into an outfit but I relish a challenge...:D

kristina13s...thanks for that link! A vast range of socks indeed - may make a purchase.

those are super cute, susie - wouldn't expect anything less from you !

so i ordered those rebecca turbow socks a LONG time ago, and they were super late so she said she'd send a second pair - i think they're waiting for me at the post so i'll be sure to let you guys know how they look...i'm excited for them !

Thanks kristina13s but I was looking for the Prada socks. Do you guys know if I have to buy them in their store in New York?

Not so sure, it sometimes looks really good on the runway but in real life doesn't have quite the same effect. I tried to knee socks a few years ago when I was 15 or something, I cringe everytime I see the photos lol.

here's another...Y-3 from style.com

although these i guess are legwarms...still a great look.

^Are you getting the ribbed ones? Because I had to get the normal ones coz the ribbed ones haven't come in.

Ok, here they are then.

Didn't really wear the outfit but was trying different things with them. They are actually tight but also very very long so you get the ruched/bunched up effect.
When I studied the Prada catwalk pics, I realised that they weren't actually all that loose on the models either but just bunched up because of the length. The size of the socks corresponds to your feet size as opposed to the size of your calves/thighs.

They feel very nice against your legs. :flower:

Those are gorgeous! I was wondering where you bought them, and for how much? Thanks :flower:

knee high socks - whether plain or brightly colored and patterned - are just wrong. they only suit a few stick thin people and the look is a bit reminiscent of leg warmers. Not a good look especially on the street

Women's knee-high socks can look okay--I'll never say great, but okay. Suzies socks look allright. If one has a fetish for the Catholic schoolgirl look, I guess knee-high socks probably look good. I thought the black legwarmers posted above were not flattering.

What looks terrible and has always looked terrible are those white knee-high socks for men with red and yellow stripes at the top that were often accompanied by red 80's gym/running shorts with slits in the sides. I never bothered calling them knee-high socks, I just call them knee-socks so the name sounds as absurd as they look.

Im looking for a pair that has the same stile as these, (I know the pic is a bit "naked", sorry about that)

over the past months i've updated my sock drawer to hold nothing but knee socks, and i've been slouching them for the past little while too - looks like i'm finally part of a trend  i LOVE this look - the prada is among my favorites. i'm totally going to try the sheared off pantyhose thing though, that's a really good idea.

rebecca turbow, who's been mentioned quite a bit in the indie designers mega thread, has a pair of knee socks that she's stitched to add some texture to the top...check it out

do not quote pics

you can get different colored stitching as well - white with grey, black, brown, turquoise..etc. i've ordered a pair and i hope to get them soon!

thanks for the trend thread, kimkhuu - i can always count on you for shrewd trendspotting

ps: rockstar, if men can wear capris, they can probably wear kneesocks too

I know i'm not suposed to quote pictures, but thats leigh lezark from the scene street style tread!!

^ Indeed, and if you know you are not supposed to quote pics, then please don't do it. Thank you.
