Kris Van Assche Replaced with Gareth Pugh at Dior Homme?

^^Wow. I'm extremely interested as to how this will all play out and I'm even more interested in the designs he will create!

And I can't even believe that I'm saying this, but I almost want to see what he would do with Dior womenswear...but that's maybe just because I want to see what he can do when he ditches the sci-fi/ Rubik's cube shtick.

Well, now we'll see what he's really made of, when he's got to come up with innovation that keeps within the lines drawn by Dior, while also continuing to push forward with his own aesthetic under his own name. He'll be a busy boy.

i was rereading what i said in the previous page and i realize i didnt sound too optimistic...

yet suddenly i am very excited for this!!!!! i cant wait for an official lvmh announcement, AND of course for a cool first collection!!!

Gareth Pugh to take over at Dior Homme

It's true! The rumors started when Delphine Arnault, the daughter of LVMH head honcho Bernard Arnault sat front row at his debut menswear show in Paris, and now we've heard from well placed sources backstage at Louise Goldin that it's a done deal. No official from LVMH yet but we're expecting the announcement that Gareth is taking over from Dior Homme's current designer Kris van Assche any day now.

i read about this a couple of days ago. but the source wasn't reliable so i didn't post it. i think it's great for him.

there's already a thread in rumor has it.. not sure if it's official yet.

Hopefully he can bring excitement and some new ideas into the house of Dior Homme. But something tells me Arnault is wanting the hype from Pugh to transfer into Dior.

YES thank you I love Gareth (I wish that Hedi would return but I dont see that happening) I heard about this right after his mens show (which was great by the way) I wonder how he can make this different than his own collections?

we see him attempt menswear once and now he's head of one of the most influential menswear lines out right now? jw...

i know im probably alone here, but i kind of feel bad for kva, although i was strongly dissapointed with his first collections for DH, i felt like he was finally on the right track with AW09!

i'm not sure what to think of pugh for DH yet, he seems very talented and promising, but
his last show makes hedi's luster seem like a gap collection !! i mean it is beyond unwearable..

it's a very bold move from LVMH getting rid of kva so soon, and replacing him with an even younger relatively obscure designer with such an extreme aestethic ?! of course pugh will have to tone things down quite a bit if he plans on staying on board...

^ me too....
i mean i like Gareth... but Gareth for dior homme? i dunno....
