I think he didn't want to get caught up in another scandal or more gossip (even if there is no truth to it). People were already starting to talk about the two of them having an affair or the trouble he would get into with Kristen. His career is on a high now - he can't mess it up.

I also think they look odd together - he is too old for her. She looks much younger than Blake Lively who he looked ok with.

Someone’s been a little risque lately! Just days after beeing seeing around town with a slingshot , Kristen Stewart showed a sign of her wild times as she was sporting a hoodie from an Oregon strip club while at LAX yesterday. The 22-year-old actress most likely got the Mary’s Club memorabilia after visiting the joint while filming of the Twilight series in the Beaver State (you couldn’t make this stuff up)! Wonder if her boyfriend Robert Pattinson’s been there too? Do you like Kristen’s risque style?
